Sapphire Covering Shelgon's body are outgrowths much like bones. The shell is very hard and bounces off enemy attacks. When awaiting evolution, this Pokémon hides away in a cavern. Name origin

Shelgon's name is a combination of shell and dragon. Its Japanese name is a misspelling of 籠る komoru, to seclude oneself. It is worth noting that 龍 ryū, dragon, is part of the kanji for komoru.
