Wait, is Rotom Dex a Pokemon, or an item?

Also, I think we should use the term Rotom Pokédex, and not the more informal Rotom Dex on the article.

Island Scan Pokémon

Just wondering how we should go about adding Island Scan Pokémon to pages. I added the Sun and Moon section for Togekiss here, giving the location and in brackets after it (Island Scan, Tuesday) to show how to obtain it. Would this be an okay format for Pokémon pages? As for the location pages, should they be listed under Special encounters? ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 16:15, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Poké Radar Pokémon have been listed within the Special Pokémon sections in the past. However, hidden Pokémon in ORAS are listed separately on their route pages. So I assume that should take precedence since it's a more recent example. --Voltdetector (talk) 05:52, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
I've created a mock up of both with Klink. Included N/A for allies since, from my experience, Adrenaline Orbs don't work on Island Scan Pokémon. --Voltdetector (talk) 07:57, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

I personally think the second one should be used. Although we should put the Day of the Week they appear next to "One" in the table too. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 08:14, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Alright, I added day of the week to the latter. I'll go about adding this layout to the relevant pages unless there's any other additions that need to be made. I'm not sure on the levels they are at, but I could put in the levels the other Pokémon in those areas appear at. Not sure if a mouse over should be added to explain the lack of allies. --Voltdetector (talk) 08:50, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

The levels are apparently set (or at least, I have info that confirms one level only), so I've added those. If you like, feel free to include info about the lack of allies and such here, but with the template, I guess it's perfectly clear that they don't call allies at the individual locations. Nescientist (talk) 22:14, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Is there a reason why the Thursday pokemon are always highlighted? Was the highlight intended to move based on the day? --Foxsong (talk) 19:54, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Rotom Dex

I think we should add a redirect from "Rotom Dex" to this page, but I'm not sure how. TheDoctorPotter (talk) 20:55, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Just search it, click on "Create article", and then make it a redirect like by writing #REDIRECT [[Article title]]. Nescientist (talk) 22:14, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Poké Finder

Should we make a list of Poké Finder spots and the Pokémon you can encounter there? AmoongussForLife (talk) 18:12, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

I think we should. (That sounds very much like a new main article even to me.) Nescientist (talk) 12:08, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
We have photography. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:31, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
That page is already starting to get pretty big, though. I think the Poké Finder could merit its own page, particularly if it includes all the information about which Pokémon can be found at each location. —AndyPKMN (talk) 16:02, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
I would really suggest just starting by adding info to photography right now. The page exists and is a good fit (I don't think it's really too long, but I have felt it's a bit cluttered). Let's maybe not waste too much time trying to decide whether a new page is warranted when we really just need the info. You can always add a split template (and don't forget to start a topic on the talk page about why it should be split). Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:14, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Touching Rotom

When the player touches the black area between the Rotom Pokédex' eyes, the Pokédex-function can be directly accessed - is this something worthy of a mention in the article? Perhaps in the Trivia-section under the bullet about non-functional areas? Jaxon (make fun of my failures) 00:49, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

The functions accessed by touching it should be mentioned in their appropriate section under Functions. glikglak 00:59, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Done. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:08, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Rotom Pokedex (Anime)

Should we make a separate anime article for Rotom Pokedex? Since it is bound to appear in almost every episode, and shows a lot of personality, almost like one of the main cast Pokemon. The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) 09:37, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

There's currently one in development in the userspace. I'd ideally like to have this one mainspaced within the near future. --Pokemaster97 19:46, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Trivia question

Is it worth noting that, despite being "in" the PokeDex, Rotom itself does not have a Dex entry and is not actually obtainable in Alola? Frezgle (Silverlucario) (talk) 21:39, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

If I'm not mistaken, either this article or the one about Rotom mentioned this earlier. I can't find this trivia bit in either article now, so maybe it was deleted and thus deemed not notable? Kikugi (talk) 22:03, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Just because something is an NPC doesn't mean it's required/expected to be in the regional Dex. Singling it out in a trivium inherently implies that we're assuming it should be required/expected. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 05:47, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
