Pallet Town (Japanese: Masara Town) is where most trainers in Kanto start their Pokemon journeys. There, they can receive either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle from Professor Oak. The exception to this was for Ash Ketchum, who got the Magic Pikachu from Oak because he woke up late the day he was supposed to get his Trianer's Licence.
Other trainers who've left Pallet Town include Gary Oak, Hajime, Red, Green, and Blue.
