Ash captures Riolu?!

Here? Doubtful. Pretty much anyone who believes Ash is destined to have Riolu believes that Ash will get Riolu via an egg, and said egg will be handed out around Iron Island, or possibly Canalave City if the anime decides not to visit Iron Island. Granted, stranger things have happened--Happiny's egg, which should have come around Hearthome City and going to Dawn, ended up coming before Eterna City and went to Brock--but I think we're too early to think about Ash actually getting Riolu. --Shiningpikablu252 04:42, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Especially since he just battled Lucario like four episodes before... TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 06:03, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Trivia

Would it be better for the fact that it is aired on the day that Ranger 2 will be released in the Trivia instead of the top?-Billy4b2004 07:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

The reason the episode is airing on that particular day is because of the game's release. It's a pretty big point. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:14, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Floatzel

I see its listed as in this episode does anyone think Buizel will evolve in this one Ash could use an evolution and Buizel is the strongest member of his current team if you ask me. Bobtherandomguy 22:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Ash's Buizel's listed for part two as a Buizel, so odds are that either Buizel's not evolving here and/or DP071 is actually an hour-long episode like AG171 was and listing the episode as two parts is incorrect. Besides, we don't know how far off Pastoria City and Crasher Wake is, so we probably still have plenty of time before the expected Floatzel vs. Floatzel matchup. --Shiningpikablu252 23:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you're right, it's a one-hour special.-Billy4b2004 02:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

About the blood...

Weren't the last times that someone was bleeding on-screen a human? Isn't Riolu the first Pokémon shown bleeding? TTEchidnaFire echy 06:05, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I think I saw Pokémon bleed before. Like the Nuzleaf from Leave it to Brocko!. --File:Ani048MS.gifケンジFile:Ani183MS.gifガールFile:Ani123MS.gif 06:10, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Game

Is no one going to mention that this episode was based on the Riolu mission in Pokémon Ranger Batonnage? --ケンジガール 01:11, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Crossing Paths

I have some doubts that this is the dub title for this episode. Given that this episode and DP072 aired in Japan to correlate with a game that won't be available in America until November, it's quite possible that "Crossing Paths" is actually the dub title for DP073. Given how AG171 (the hour-long Ranger 1 episode) was bumped forward in America to correlate with the first Ranger's release, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if "Crossing Paths" is DP073 and not DP071. --Shiningpikablu252 15:51, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

I think so, but before August 23 we cannot do anything --Nick. 02:20, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Further more who thought "Paths" was incorrect. "Pathes" isn't even a word, as far as I can tell. Unless I'm misunderstanding something. --Dman dustin 02:55, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Consider this, the American title for DP72 is "Pika and Goliath!"... Don't you think that "Pika and Goliath!" is for DP074 and "Crossing Paths" is for DP073? And... I think that we'll see the Ranger special in November... --Nick. 05:08, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, then, it's lucky Gligar's not in this one. TTEchidna 04:53, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Dub

When will this episode air I want to see it Livinlarge18 20:05, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Probably in November. DP071 and DP072 promote a game to be released in that month, giving PUSA a reason to skip around those two episodes, similar to how an episode was moved up to promote the first Ranger game.
Jessie's Dustox and Ash's Gligar don't appear in these episodes, and odds are November will come before DP091 and DP092 air dubbed (many suspect Ash's Chimchar will evolve in DP091, with some suspecting Dawn's Piplup will evolve in DP092). This gave PUSA flexibility, which they almost didn't have in the first Ranger special (one episode further behind Japan and they would have spoiled Grovyle's evolution). --Shiningpikablu252 20:11, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be added this was supposed to air on November 8th, but Cartoon Network changed it so it would fit the timeline better because it was originally was going to air after the Croagunk episode. --Dman dustin 21:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

No because it was never set to air then. The airdate was revealed by Nintendo Power and Cartoon Network posted the wrong schedule, leading to everyone else posting the wrong schedule. --HoennMaster 03:46, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

If it was never set to air then, then how do we know the Croagunk's dub title? The way I see it, is someone realized it messed with the timeline so they fixed. Note: Cartoon Network is basically the one that says when Dubs air. If not, then why do we sometimes have multiple new episodes on occasion? Isn't this like the Spiritomb episode? --Dman dustin 06:03, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
It was just a mistake by CN. They have all the titles for the season, they just reveals it to go according the schedule. Maybe it was an error for the code, and they just write "Episode 29" where it goes the "Episode 27". --Nick., something to say? 06:12, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah but if it wasn't for the fact it was really out of order, I don't see why they wouldn't have aired by the error we saw. The only real problem was the Croagunk episode revealed Wake and they were on their way to Pastoria City? I don't see why Cartoon Network can't change the schedule whenever they see a problem. I didn't think that what they put down for an airdate was permanent.--Dman dustin 06:19, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Pokémon Count

Do we really have to put the number of Pokémon of the same species seen in the episode? I mean, I saw 2 Nincada and 2 Ariados, something like that, however, I did not place it there. Maybe we could just change it to "multiple", like in the other episodes.--Kevzo8 08:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Some people do take the time to count the known quantities, provided such a count can be completed. For example, while watching EP214 when it was up on Toonami Jetstream, I was able to count a whopping 23 different Chinchou in a single shot. --Shiningpikablu252 15:32, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I see. Anyway, I saw 2 nincada and 2 ariados. Nincada and Ariados appeared in the beginning of the forest scene, and I hesitated to add them coz' maybe they are the same as the other used by Kellyn. However, they are on the different area. That's why I asked. --Kevzo8 14:16, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Umm...

I don't think this episode (including AG171, AG172, DP072) should be counted as actual episode, so I think wee should move it to Pokémon Ranger:......... Shouldn't that be fair?? Juan Sanfiel 01:23, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
