Trivia

  • No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Terrakion.
    • As such, it is the only member of the musketeer trio that has a unique type combination.
  • Terrakion is similar to Moltres in two ways: it is a member of a non-mascot legendary trio, and is found in its region's Victory Road in the first games that feature its region (Moltres was later moved to Mt. Ember in Generation III and Mt. Silver in Generation IV).
  • Terrakion takes super-effective damage from Grass, Steel, Water, and Fighting; the collective types of the other members of its quartet.

Origin

Terrakion appears to be based on the character of Porthos from the novel The Three Musketeers. Like Porthos, Terrakion is the heaviest, largest, and strongest member of the trio. It also has traits of bulldogs and oxen.

Name origin

Terrakion's name may derive from terracotta, a clay-based material, as well as its respective color. It may also come from terra, latin for earth.
