May's VAs

Sorry if I was getting crap wrong, the list of international voice actors says that May had three VAs (four if you count the 6th/7th movie dubs), so I was going by that. >_> ZestyCactus 06:22, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I think I understand it now. See, May's page said that she was voiced by Liliana Barba for a few episodes, but if you're saying that's wrong, then I'll change it. Thanks for letting me know :) ZestyCactus 22:53, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Re:Changes

I'm sorry if I took out too much information or oversummarized, I will re-edit it more carefully later. Also, I do agree that while the Spanish wiki is mostly about Spain, people seem to think it's universal to all Spanish-speaking countries. It's not the same! It's the same with the French wiki - it's all about France and has basically nothing about Québec (the French-speaking province of Canada). I understand your frustrations and don't worry - I do know plenty about Latin America, I have friends who live there. Again, sorry if I shortened the info too much, I'll be more careful next time. ZestyCactus 00:40, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Absolutely! I think the Latin America article is one of the best and most detailed in Project Globe so far and if you want to help add more information to it you're more than welcome to do so :) I really appreciate all the info you've added! I was thinking of adding information about some merchandise available in Latin America, like the Pokémon Tazos, next. Would you be able to help with that? ZestyCactus 02:25, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I started a small section about Pokémon merchandise, feel free to add more information and expand on what I've already written. I also added the part about Tooncast - thanks for giving me the information :) do you know which countries receive Tooncast (so I can add it to the table when Pokémon starts to air in January)? Thanks! ZestyCactus 01:37, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing the Tooncast part. So, just to double-check, Tooncast airs in basically every country of Latin America? And it airs in Brazil in Portuguese? Also, thanks for the link, I don't know much Spanish but I'll take a look at it later and try and fumble my way through. :) Thanks! ZestyCactus 00:59, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I took a look at the article :D there's definitely good information in there, I just have to decide what exactly should be added to the article. A few things I thought should be mentioned:
  • I think it definitely should be mentioned that the Mystery Dungeon specials were dubbed to Spanish and have been aired on Cartoon Network, the specials aren't mentioned anywhere in the article yet
  • The Biografia Toon stuff should probably be mentioned as well, although I'm not quite sure where we'd put it. I don't know if we need a whole section about Cartoon Network... so maybe in trivia?
  • Another good trivia point is that Cartoon Network Latinoamérica has never banned an episode except for the episodes banned in Japan and the United States
One last thing to add would maybe be the current schedule of Pokémon on Cartoon Network (the times and days of the week it airs on the station), see the Canada article for an example. So either you or I could make these additions over the next few days? I could probably do a little bit of this later tonight. If there's anything else you think should be added let me know or better yet, just add it youself and I can take a look at it. Thanks for all your help! :) ZestyCactus 03:37, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Tight spot

you see, the comment you left on Peru's talk page sounds like you were simply defending yourself, and thats fine. but, from what little of it can read, you did call him a number of offenses. due to that, you did violate the Code of conduct so i have to give you at least a day to cool down. honestly i dont know what else to say. all this Spanish is going over my head, so just keep it cool next time, or report it to an admin. -- MAGNEDETH 20:16, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Tooncast

Hello, happy new year! :D Anyways, now that it is January and Pokémon should be airing on Tooncast, would you mind checking the chart and adding any countries that recieve Tooncast that might not be on the chart yet? (not including Brazil, as that country has its own article) Thank you! :) ZestyCactus 08:02, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:PKMN LATAM

Hello! I have reviewed and proofread the article and I think it's ready to be nominated for FAC, if you'd like. I think the article covers all of the most important parts of Latin American fandom, I can't think of anything important that has not been mentioned yet. Would you like to nominate the article or should I do it? --ZestyCactus 18:43, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I received your email last night. I'll let you nominate the article yourself once the wiki is opened to regular editing, you really have done a lot of the work yourself. And don't worry about any grammatical errors, I do understand :) Thanks for all your help! --ZestyCactus 13:33, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I guess the best thing to do is to proofread/reorganise the sections such as Cast and Crew. I can work on that probably tomorrow when I'm at work. --ZestyCactus 03:19, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I have been a bit busy at work D: however, I have been trying to think of ways to reorganise that section. I was thinking of organising it into three sections: "Main cast" (for main characters or voice actors with lots of roles), "Supporting cast" (actors who play only a few roles or only background/side characters) and "Argentina cast" for those who appeared in M06 and M07. I can hopefully do that in the next few days. What do you think? --ZestyCactus 18:03, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I did some proofreading on the cast and crew section, let me know what you think. --ZestyCactus 17:56, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking of eliminating (or at least reducing) the information on other shows that the voice actors appear on. While it's interesting, it does make the sections a lot longer. Is that okay? (I will definitely still include that Gabriel Ramos is on MTV though, as he is famous for that and is the reason why he left Ash's role for a while) --ZestyCactus 18:51, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

"Fallos"

  • Español

Me gustaría comentarte unos detalles tras leer un comentario tuyo en una edición del artículo de Barry:

    • (dif) (hist) . . m Barry (anime)‎; 19:13 . . (+6) . . Toonamimaniacolatino (Discusión | contribuciones) (We must not hide his name as was originally. This is one of the thousands of failures of dubbing in Spain)

  • English:

I would like to tell you something about your comment in an edition of Barry's article:

    • (dif) (hist) . . m Barry (anime)‎; 19:13 . . (+6) . . Toonamimaniacolatino (Discusión | contribuciones) (We must not hide his name as was originally. This is one of the thousands of failures of dubbing in Spain)

His original name was not hidden, if you look at the asterisk in Barry's Iberian Spanish name section, you will see that it is written that Benito is his name from DP110 onwards. If there is only this name in that section, without any other indication, it is easy to guess that his previous name was the one used in the English version.

According to Amparo Valencia, directress of the Spanish dub, their customer decided that Barry would be called Benito since the very beginning, but due to the fact that Barry's first appearances were already dubbed when the name glossaries were given to her, they could not change his name in those episodes. This happened with Handsome's and Plutón's, appearances as well. In this case, they were called by their English names, Looker and Charon. They could only correct some phrases because of the customer's budget limit, so they only changed those that included Plutón English name.

I do not know if you were referring only to the Iberian Spanish dub of Pokémon or the Iberian Spanish dub in general, but I think saying that a dub you probably do not know has thousands of mistakes is kind of rude, specially if you do not work in the dubbing or translation industry.

For future reference...

When you create templates in the userspace and complete them, you're supposed to ask an admin about it first for their opinion, and then you move it to the mainspace with their approval. Thank you. Also, another reminder, please don't insult other dubs, it's not really tolerable and is a bannable offense because it's rude to other users. Thank you. --Psyライダー 20:27, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Also, since we're an English speaking wiki, when you post something in a different language, it would be courteous to post an English translation as well to people who don't understand it. It's only fair, since from what I could gather from Google Translate...you seem to be bashing the Spanish dub again. Jello 22:39, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
As I am not attacking, I'm pointing out things as they are. It is a question of the interpretation of ideas. If they fail to understand what I'm trying to say, not that another way to do it and I do not mean the language. --Toonamimaniacolatino 22:51, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I only said that you can't generalize with so few examples. If you say that Iberian Spanish dubs and translations have hundreds of mistakes without knowing anything about the translation process, then it's an attack. Guille Skye 23:04, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I do not think so. --Toonamimaniacolatino 23:24, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
To not be in the same and that no one understands me, better read this (all comments contenideo) and traduzcanlo for those who do not know Spanish. --Toonamimaniacolatino 00:11, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Pokémon manga

Hello, long time since we last talked. You know these? If it's possible, could you send me the ISBN numbers for them since i am adding international publications to all the articles i'm planning to make for the monthly issues. also if you own a scanner it would be awesome if you could scan individual cover artwork, but that's not neccessary if you don't have access to that. thanks in advance! :) --ZestyCactus 04:00, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
