Archiving a talk page
Hi. Archiving talk pages shouldn't be for just cleaning messages away, it's mostly for re-organization and historic purposes. You normally archive a talk page once it reaches 25, 50 or even 100kB since it reaches quite a length by then and could be increasingly confusing. Also, for easier access, you should slap a link in to your archived talk pages in the main talk page. Any further questions should be answered by reading the talk page policy. Thank you. Critical captures in Gen VI
You edited the Catch rate page to say that in Gen VI four shake checks are performed normally or two on a critical capture. While the former claim just makes sense given a ball can break after two shakes again, the latter is not so obvious; the default assumption would be that critical captures perform one shake check like in Gen V. Do you have a source for this claim? Dragonfree (talk) 17:45, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
A couple Bulbapedia policies
Per Bulbapedia:Talk page policy, your talk page should have a link to your archived talk page(s).
I'd also like to reiterate this here since I'm not confident that you will notice my response to you on my talk page... "I would ask you to please be very careful in the future about linking a different user and their talk page like you did above. It looks exactly like a signature, and when your actual signature doesn't look like a usual signature, it is very easy to miss your real signature and assume the comment is from Dragonfree. Thank you." I would also point out that Bulbapedia:Signature policy recommends you include a link to your talk page in your signature. If you had that link, it might have been a little harder for me to mistake who the comment was from. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:34, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Critical capture random number
Hello again. I was looking over the catch rate page in the hope of fixing some of the numerous errors on it, and I noticed it claims the random number generated to determine whether a capture should be critical is between 0 and 2047, when the analyses I know of say it's between 0 and 255. Some digging through the edit history reveals that edit was also made by you. What is this based on? I notice the page is also missing a division by six in the formula used to calculate the critical capture chance, so if you were simply making an educated guess that seemed roughly in line with your actual experience on the game, that would explain it. But if you've seen that particular number claimed somewhere that's actually analyzed the code, where is that? Dragonfree (talk) 19:59, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
That's right. When I wrote that, there was no information in there. I did field researches and caught 100 Pokémon and the chance used to be a perfect 1:8 chance at every time. But if you have founded information that it is 1:6 instead then please correct it. As I said, the article has been blank in this section at that time. --- Pokémon Questions? -- 23:31, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
