The Sacred Ash (Japanese: せいなるはい Sacred Ash) is a healing item found in most games since Generation II. Unlike other items in general—which work on only one Pokémon—the Sacred Ash, when used, is used on multiple Pokémon at a time. It can be used only outside battle.

Uses

Generation II

Sacred Ash restores all Pokémon in the party to full HP and PP, as long as one Pokémon has fainted. It can be sold for $100.

Sacred Ash now only heals and restores Pokémon that have fainted.

Locations

The Sacred Ash is typically found only once per game, and will often have some relation to Ho-Oh.

Generation II

In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, the wild Ho-Oh that appears at the Tin Tower will be holding a Sacred Ash.

Generation III

In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, the Sacred Ash is found on Navel Rock, if the player uses the Itemfinder after capturing or defeating Ho-Oh; in Emerald, it is also held by the Ho-Oh itself.

Sacred Ashes can be found on the floor in Poké Balls in the Battle Pyramid; however, they cannot be kept.

By defeating Battle CD 46, the player can earn another Sacred Ash as a prize in Pokémon XD.

Generation IV

In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, two Sacred Ashes are available. The first is obtained by talking to the Professor's aide in the right gate on Route 2, while the second is held by the Ho-Oh at the top of the Bell Tower, just as it was in Generation II.

Generation V

Players can obtain Sacred Ash in Generation V by transferring it from Pokémon Dream Radar to Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Boxes purchased in Join Avenue Antique Shops also have a chance of containing Sacred Ash.

Sacred Ash

Sacred Ash was introduced as an Item card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the Japanese XY Era. It was first released in the Japanese Wild Blaze expansion, featuring an illustration by PLANETA. This Trainer card allows the player to take five Pokémon cards from their discard pile and shuffle them into their deck.

Trivia

  • Since the Sacred Ash cannot be used in battle (unlike the Max Revive), its net effect can be achieved by applying 5 Revives followed by 5 Max Potions/Full Restores, placing its value at $20000/22500, respectively, in terms of utility alone.
