As Ash and the gang wait for the bridge to Driftveil City to be repaired, they decide how they’re going to spend their day. Cilan excitedly announces he’s going to participate in the Subway Bosses Stamp Rally, which will allow the winner to have a battle with one of the Subway Bosses, Ingo and Emmet. But to win, he must obtain 60 Pokémon stamps by that afternoon—a challenge that usually takes three days to complete!
Ash and Iris decide to head out for a day of sightseeing. After visiting the two sports arenas and the Musical Theater, they end up in the amusement park, where they find a lost female Axew who’s been separated from its Trainer, Erina. They try to help out by going back to the subway station where Axew and Erina were to meet. But when they arrive, Erina is nowhere in sight.
Iris leaves a note for the lost Axew’s Trainer, telling her that they will be back at the amusement park. In the meantime, Erina runs into Cilan during the stamp rally, and he eventually leads her back to the station to find the note from Iris. Then, with the aid of the Subway Bosses, Erina and her Axew are happily reunited!
Time is called for the stamp rally, and Cilan realizes that he’s missing just one stamp to win. As thanks for his help, Erina gives Cilan the stamp he needs—and out of the kindness of their hearts, Ingo and Emmet offer to have a Tag Battle with Cilan and Ash, much to our heroes’ excitement!
A fierce battle ensues at Gear Station, and Ingo and Emmet are victorious. Despite the defeat, our heroes are grateful for the opportunity to battle the amazing Subway Bosses, who tell them the bridge has been repaired and they can leave for Driftveil City whenever they want. But they decide to stay one more night for the chance to ride Nimbasa City’s famous Ferris wheel. We leave everyone as Ash starts to turn his eye toward his upcoming Gym Battle at the Driftveil City Gym...

After his victory against Elesa at the Nimbasa City Gym, Ash and his friends spend some more time in Nimbasa City while the drawbridge is being repaired. Cilan runs into the subway station with Ash and Iris running to catch him. Ash asks Cilan why he's in such a rush, and Cilan explains that the Nimbasa City subway stamp rally is going on. It's the final day of the event which ends at 4 PM. Cilan explains the prize for the winner is getting a chance to battle either of the subway bosses, Ingo or Emmett. Ash says it sounds like fun, so Cilan tells Ash to join him on his quest, but unfortunately for Cilan, Ash already promised to spend the day with Iris.
Ash and Iris see a match between the Gurdurr 11 and Team Darmanitan. Iris says that the Gurdurr 11 have trained in the Village of Dragons for a long time so she is rooting for them while Ash roots for Team Darmanitan. The Gurdurr 11 won the match, and next Ash and Iris decide to play a game of tennis at the Small Court. During the game they both score and Iris accidentally hits Ash in the face with a tennis ball. After the match the two shake hands and so do Axew and Pikachu. Next they go see a Pokémon musical with a cast of a Gothita, Gothitelle, Cottonee, Deerling, and Swanna. Oshawott comes out of his Pokéball and walks up to the stage. Ash and Pikachu tried to get Oshawott away, but all three were brought on stage by Gothitelle. They danced with the Pokémon and received a round of applause from the audience.
After the musical Ash and Iris walk around, and Iris goes off to get some ice cream. Ash tried to catch up with her, but failed. He then spotted an Axew looking around and assumed Axew belonged to Iris. He asked her which way Iris went, causing Axew to become confused. Iris comes back with ice cream for Ash and Pikachu and then she notices Axew. She picks her up and snuggles with her, but Axew is upset. Iris realizes that she's lost. Iris, her Axew, and the lost Axew sit on a bench together and wait for Ash. Ash comes back and says no one has reported a missing Pokémon. Axew is sad, but Iris promises her she won't give up until she finds Axew's trainer.
As Cilan collects stamps he is approached by a girl named Erina who asks him how she can get to the amusement park. He gives her directions and she goes off. Now Cilan returns to the task at hand sure that he will win.
Back to Ash, Iris, and the two Axew. Ash and Iris are trying to find out where Axew and her trainer got seperated and she takes them to the subway platform. In a car she sees a girl who looks like Erina and runs into the train excitedly. Iris sends Emolga after Axew. It turned out the young girl wasn't Erina. The girl asks Axew how long she'll cling to her leg, and then the girls Swadloon uses String Shot on Axew. Emolga sees this and angrily uses Discharge. Iris comes in and gets shocked herself and tells Emolga to stop. Now the group is in trouble and a man tells them to be careful, and they all apologize for what happened.
