Tupp's Salandit (Japanese: タッパヤトウモリ Tupper's Yatoumori) is a Pokémon owned by Tupp from Team Skull. Tupp is shown to own three of them.
History
This section is incomplete. Please feel free to edit this section to add missing information and complete it. Reason: Roles in SM128 and SM129 |
They first appeared alongside two others in Alola to New Adventure!. They were sent out to battle Kiawe for his Charizard, fighting alongside Rapp's Zubat and Zipp's Yungoos. Ash intervened in the battle, since it was nine against one; he sent Pikachu to battle alongside Turtonator. After a short battle, Turtonator defeated Salandit with Inferno Overdrive. After this, Tupp was shown using only one Salandit.
Tupp used Salandit once more in Young Kiawe Had a Farm!, where it fired Dragon Rage to shoot down the Ride Pelipper that Ash was riding on, to seek revenge for their previous defeat. Afterwards, it was defeated when Pikachu used Gigavolt Havoc.
In Alolan Open House!, Salandit attacked the Pokémon School and briefly battled Ash's Litten, who was under the command of Delia at the moment. It was then defeated by Pikachu with Gigavolt Havoc.
In A Team-on-Team Tussle!, Salandit attempted to get a Darkinium Z, only for Team Rocket to get it first.
In A Glaring Rivalry!, Salandit was sent out to battle Gladion's Midnight Form Lycanroc. It was defeated by Lycanroc's Stone Edge.
In Turning Heads and Training Hard!, Salandit took on Ilima's Eevee. It was defeated after its opponent enhanced its stats with Extreme Evoboost.
In Real Life...Inquire Within!, Salandit battled Pikachu again during an attempt to catch Poipole. However, the battle ended when Zipp's Garbodor's arm became blocked, causing it to release a horrible smell. This prompted everyone to retreat.
In The Shape of Love to Come!, Salandit was drawn by Zipp as a part of a challenge from Mina to see whom could produce the best drawing of one of their Pokémon. When Tupp and his fellow Team Skull members became angry, they attacked Mina. With the help of Ash, Mina defeated the Team Skull trio and sent them running away in fear.
In We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, Salandit was relaxing on the beach, only to be Tackled by an Eevee. Salandit was then used to attack Ash and his classmates, only to be sent flying by Eevee's Double-Edge.
In That's Some Spicy Island Research!, Salandit was sent out to battle Hapu and her Mudsdale. Mudsdale withstood all of Salandit, Zubat, and Garbodor's attacks before quickly defeating them with High Horsepower.
Salandit reappeared in SM128 and SM129.
Salandit will reappear in SM135.
Personality and characteristics
Salandit is loyal to Tupp and doesn't hesitate to follow his orders, including attacking defenseless Pokémon. For example, in Young Kiawe Had a Farm!, it shot a Dragon Rage at a Pelipper who had no idea it was coming. Despite this, Salandit has shown concern for its teammates, such as in A Team-on-Team Tussle!, where it got distracted from getting the Darkinium Z when it heard Garbodor and Zubat in pain, only for Tupp to tell it to focus on the job.
When it is not battling, Salandit enjoys relaxing, as seen in We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, when it was on the beach.
Despite its tough nature, Salandit can be intimidated, as seen in SM104, when it found itself up against Hapu and her Mudsdale.
