Training (Japanese: 修行 Training) is the second episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings. It was first released on The Pokémon Company's official Japanese YouTube channel, The Pokémon Company International's official English YouTube channel, and Pokémon TV on February 18, 2020.
Blurb
After losing to Galar’s Champion, Leon, Fighting-type Gym Leader Bea sets out with her Pokémon to elevate their training. Will she find her inner resolve and grow stronger…or will she succumb to the pressure of defeat?
Plot
Bea is still feeling upset following her loss to Champion Leon. She contacts Oleana and Rose to let them know she needs some time away in the Wild Area to gather her thoughts. The Chairman remarks this is just like Bea, while Oleana hopes that she won't push herself too much.
Crossing through the desert, Bea leaps from the Flying Taxi, unaware of her surrounds and also forgetting her phone in the process. The Taxi Driver questions Bea's actions, but she simply calls out her Fighting Pokémon and together they run deeper into the desert dunes. Bea and her team finally reach the Wild Area. However her attention quickly gravitates to a wild Rhydon, reminding her of Leon, which she and her Pokémon charge towards. Afterwards, they begin sharpening their focus and honing their strengths with a series of exercises. Bea continues to push herself beyond her limits, and is later injured during a practice fight against her Machamp.
They all take shelter in a cave from the pouring rain. Bea tightens a bandage around her hurt arm and immediately orders her Machamp to spar with her again, though it is hesitant given her condition. Though this is quickly subsided when sudden rock fall occurs, putting out the campfire. Armed with a flashlight, Bea and Machop try pushing some of the rocks, but realize the effort is no use. Instead, she reaches into her bag for her phone, but quickly realizes she left it back on the Taxi. Bea doesn’t let this get her down and leads her team to find an exit. Machop and the others are all clearly worried for their Trainer's health, though Bea storms ahead despite the pulsing pain in her arm and frigid conditions in the cave. She suddenly trips, hitting the ground hard and breaking her torch. Bea reels in pain, but a flash of light captures her attention. She notices the crystal-filled cavern, and is captivated by the luminous light.
Following the close call, Bea returns to her Pokémon and apologizes for her rash actions. Still feeling defeating, Bea admits that she's a terrible Trainer and will never defeat anyone in battle at this rate. However, her Pokémon feel otherwise. Machop hands her a protein bar, reminding Bea that she needs to keep up her strength. The food instantly cheers Bea up. Though she also notices light reflecting off the bar's foil packaging, which alerts her to light pouring in from above. Bea hastily scales the rock fall and begins pulling the rocks away in the hopes of escaping. However the other rocks begin to give way, threatening to crush Bea. Machamp and the others instantly step in, using their strength to prevent another rock fall.
Bea and the others manage to get out of the cave relatively unscathed, and arrive at a waterfall. Unexpectedly the Taxi Driver from earlier lands, and he returns the phone to Bea. The Driver is curious as to what she is doing out in the wilderness. Bea turns to her Pokémon, who all awkwardly react to the question. She then admits that they were simply staying out of the rain.
