Flying Taxi
The Flying Taxi (Japanese: そらとぶタクシー Flying Taxi) is a form of public transportation service in Galar, Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy. These taxis are carriages carried by a Corviknight in Galar, four Squawkabilly (one of each form) in Paldea, three Noctowl in Kitakami, and two Skarmory in Blueberry Academy. They are each piloted by a Cabbie. In Galar, the Flying Taxi is provided by the Galar Taxi (Japanese: ガラル交通 Galar Transport) company.
In the core series games
Flying Taxis are used to travel immediately to certain previously visited locations (such as Pokémon Centers) free of charge, effectively acting as a replacement for Fly, Charizard Glide, and Sky Dash from previous generations. They typically cannot be used in indoor areas such as buildings and caves.
In Pokémon Sword and Shield, after the player attends the opening ceremony for the Gym Challenge in Motostoke Stadium, they are granted access to Flying Taxis by a League Staff member upon exiting the stadium, after which they can use the taxi from the Town Map or the Habitat screen of the Pokédex. In addition to the Flying Taxis the player regularly uses, there is a local Flying Taxi in Wyndon, located in front of the Rose of the Rondelands hotel and in front of Wyndon Stadium. This taxi will take the player to and from the two aforementioned locations, the Monorail Station, and (after the player becomes Champion) the Battle Tower.
In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Flying Taxis are available to the player from the Rotom Phone's map app as soon as it is obtained. Unlike in Pokémon Sword and Shield, Flying Taxis can be used in caves. A local Flying Taxi also appears in Zapapico, but unlike the one in Wyndon, it is not usable by the player.

Flying Taxis have appeared in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. specifically in the Sword and Shield Series regarding the service run by Galar Taxi using Corviknight. All such appearances have occurred on Corviknight cards.
Flying Taxi is the Ability of the Corviknight in Darkness Ablaze. When Corviknight evolves from another Pokémon, it allows the player to return any of their Pokémon that are in play to their hand. Any cards attached to that Pokémon are also returned to their hand. Cards named "Corviknight" are ineligible, which additionally means the card cannot affect itself. The art for the card shows a Corviknight serving its role as Flying Taxi alongside a Cabbie.
The cards Corviknight and Corviknight have printings in Silver Tempest showing Corviknight and a Cabbie with the Flying Taxi. The V card is on the ground, while the VMAX is airborne. Corviknight depicts a Gigantamax Corviknight. Instead of lifting the cab in its talons, the cab is carried on Gigantamax Corviknight's head.

Trivia
- The Flying Taxi was based on a London black cab.[1]
- In Pokémon Sword and Shield, when the player takes the train to or from the Armor Station, they will automatically use a Flying Taxi to enter or leave the Isle of Armor, as seen in the animation that plays when the player first goes to the island. This will happen even if the player has not yet unlocked Flying Taxis.
- In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, going between Paldea, Kitakami, or Blueberry Academy shows an animation of a plane on the loading screen rather than a Flying Taxi, despite still being referred to as a Flying Taxi on the map.
- Braviary's Pokémon Shield Pokédex entry implies that it was originally considered to work as the Flying Taxi Pokémon, but due to its hotheaded and belligerent nature, this role was given to Corviknight instead.
- Corviknight's Pokémon Scarlet Pokédex entry says that predators attack Corviknight as it flies, so it cannot serve as the taxi service in Paldea. Tinkaton's entry from the same game states it is one such predator, knocking rocks at flying Corviknight. The implication may be that the Flying Taxi role in Paldea was given to Squawkabilly to avoid endangering customers.
