Pokémon Tech (Japanese: ポケモンゼミ Pokémon Semi), also known as Pokémon Technical, is a school located in the Kanto region. It is found in between Cerulean City and Vermilion City.
The school is an alternative option to Pokémon Trainers who don't want to go around to collect Gym Badges. Once a student graduates from Pokémon Tech, they automatically qualify for the Pokémon League.
It made its only anime appearance in The School of Hard Knocks. While lost in the forest, Ash and Pikachu found a group of Tech students quizzing Joe, who was also a student. Whenever he got a question wrong, or failed to answer, the speed of the treadmill he was on increased.
Joe explained to Ash and his friends all about the school. Misty takes offense when Joe said that he's still better than someone with two badges. Misty then challenged him to a battle, where her Starmie defeated his Weepinbell, a Template:Type2 which had an advantage against a Template:Type2.
Angry with how Giselle, the top student in the beginning class, was treating Joe, Misty stormed off to find her. When she did, they had a battle to determine who was more skilled at battling. Giselle, using a Graveler, defeated Misty's Starmie without a problem.
Ash also battled Giselle with Pikachu. She was stunned when the Template:Type2 defeated her Cubone. It was then Giselle realized that not everything about Pokémon battling can be learned in school. Joe, as a result of seeing what happened that day, decided to return to his home and begin his journey like Ash did.
Other students who have attended Pokémon Tech include Jessie and James. They are known at the school for getting the lowest scores out of anybody in its history.
