Sing (Japanese: うたう Sing) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I-II

Sing puts the target Asleep .If the Pokémon have already Status Ailment it will not work.In Stadium,A Pokémon that used Substitute will not be effected.

Generation III and on

Sing's effects remain the same, except that now it can't affect targets with Insomnia, Vital Spirit, or Soundproof as their ability.

Other appearances

Jigglypuff uses Sing as its up B attack in the Super Smash Bros. series. The move puts all ground-bound users near Jigglypuff to sleep; it does not affect players in the air.
