Little help for a newbie?

About the Pokémon appearance rates: I can confirm that Gastly shows up here in the day in Platinum, but I don't know the catch rate (and don't know how I would figure that out). Should I add it anyway? --La Diable 03:08, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

In Eterna Forest, and not in the Old Chateau? TTEchidna 03:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
That's right. Oh, of course I meant appearance rate, not catch rate. -_-; It's a very low rate, but they're there. 1 --La Diable 01:50, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Yup, I've seen the Gastly appear in the Forest in Platinum too (not just the Chateau). I've also encountered Hoothoot, Bidoof and Kricketot in the forest, which is clearly Platinum compensation for the lack of Murkrow and Misdreavus. Gastly seem to be consistent with a 2% rate, Bidoof at 20% and Hoothoot / Kricketot at 10%. Also, this is more of a general question, but should Platinum have its own Item and Trainer section on every Route in Sinnoh? H4r8z0r 23:30, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it should. You should ask this on the discussion page for project routes. (I would, but I don't have Platinum yet)--Cadellin 19:59, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
So, should we, like, update the rates on the page? I was kinda confused when I first looked at it (playing Japanese Platinum)... Micro01 21:21, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Has any body else noticed this?

There's a shortcut around he Eterna forest. If you go about 7 steps → of the entrance, and then about 17 steps↑ there are two short trees that can be cut down. If you do that, then you can walk all the way around the Eterna Forest! Should sombody add this the page? Dolphins_are_awesome! 17:54, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

But, it is impossible to go 7 steps > from either entrance, one will run you into a wall, and the other will take you out of the forest. The Dark Fiddler - Nos hablamos? 17:58, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I'm not the best at giving diretions. If you go 3 steps ↓ from the Florama Town side, then about 7 steps →, Then about 17 steps ↑, you'll see two trees that you can cut down, and when you do you'll be able to walk all the way around the Eterna Forest. Should we add this to the page? Dolphins_are_awesome! 18:12, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
This article is about the Forest itself. The shortcut you speak of happens outside of it. Either way. It doesn't belong in either article. -Sketch 18:58, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Maybe as a sentence in the route description. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 19:31, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Eh, yeah, that would make sense...something along the lines of "a short cut is available later on once the player receives Cut." -Sketch 19:34, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I redid the map, and since that shortcut is considered part of Eterna Forest (it shows your location as being in Eterna Forest), I think I might add an inset at the top left (lots of unused space there), with the shortcut. There is a 4-tile patch of Loamy soil, as well as a girl who gives you something (an accessory I think). This shortcut should be in some article, and I think this article would be the most suitable. Trivia

If this is "the place where time stands still", will Riolu and such (day- and night-based evolution) evolve in Eterna Forest?--Kevzo8 08:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Meh, probably. I just picked it up from here. I thought it was interesting, but maybe we need a note about Riolu (if it does evolve, that is). — THE TROM — 08:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, lemme try. :D --Kevzo8 09:28, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Platinum Trainers

I know it's not much, but I made a start:

In Platinum

Trainer Pokémon
Bug Catcher Jack
Bug Catcher Jack
Reward: $496
Wurmple Wurmple Lv.1
No item
Beautifly Beautifly Lv.1
No item
Silcoon Silcoon Lv.1
No item
Lass Briana
Lass Briana
Reward: $496
Pachirisu Pachirisu Lv.1
No item
Psychic Lindsey
Psychic Lindsey
Reward: $1088
Abra Abra Lv.17
No item
Psychic Elijah
Psychic Elijah
Reward: $1088
Abra Abra Lv.17
No item
Trainers with a Vs. Seeker by their names, when alerted for a rematch using the item, may use higher-level Pokémon.

I didn't want to add it to the article since it's not a complete list of trainers in the area and it'd make the page look half-done. Plus I've no idea if that's how the winnings work. - Miraglyth 18:28, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Addition: Added the second pair of trainers. Also made a mess of the levels of the first pair - I wrote down their Platinum levels but then accidentally transcribed the DP levels, so they're wrong >.< I also can't figure out how to note that the Abras still know Hidden Power (they're both Fighting too. Given the Chansey you're partnered with, I wonder if that's a coincidence). - Miraglyth 18:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Buneary

Towards the beginning of the article it states that Eterna forest "is currently the only place in the Pokémon world to catch Buneary." This is incorrect as you can catch Buneary on Route 25 in Kanto in swarms in HeartGold and SoulSilver.--Ksemanr 01:34, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
