Glare (Japanese: へびにらみ Snake Glare) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Glare paralyzes the target. Glare cannot paralyze the target if it already has a major status ailment.

In Stadium, Glare cannot affect a target that has a Substitute.

Trivia

  • Dunsparce is the only non-Template:Type2 to learn Glare.
  • Generation IV is the only generation to not introduce a new Pokémon that can learn Glare. Ekans and Arbok were introduced in Generation I, Dunsparce was introduced in Generation II, and Seviper was introduced in Generation III.
  • All the Pokémon that know Glare are snake-based.
  • Glare's English name is the same as the Japanese name of the move Leer.
