Trivia
- Professor Oak's Live Caster: Pendra
- This marks the first time since the very first episode that Jessie, James, and Meowth did not appear in a regular episode of the Pokémon anime, excluding the clip show episode AG120.
- This episode can be related with Just One of the Geysers, in which Ash battled Brawly: Brawly and Aloe were the second Gym Leaders Ash faced in Hoenn and Unova, respectively, Ash lost to them in an official battle and beat them in his second attempt, they both appeared in three episodes, and in the rematch, Ash battled a Pokémon of theirs that evolved prior to the rematch. The difference though was the fact that Aloe's Haderia evolved off screen, unlike Brawly's Hariyama.
