Trivia
- Even though it is said to create fangs or tusks of ice for fighting, Tsunbear is unable to learn Ice Fang.
- Tsunbear is the only non-Water Pokémon that is not legendary to be able to learn Dive. This is most likely to reflect the fact that it is based on a polar bear.
Origin
Tsunbear is based on the polar bear, a species of bear found primarily in the Arctic Circle.
Name origin
Tsunbear's name may derive from the 氷柱 tsurara (icicle), ツンドラ (tundra), and bear. It may also be a pun on "sun bear".
