In the anime
Ben made his debut in the game's anime special, Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (Part One) where he attempted to stop the Pokémon Pinchers from gaining control of other Pokémon. However, he was later attacked, which caused him to come crashing down to an island where the Ukulele Pichu was located.
Ben made his debut appearance in the main series in Pokémon Ranger: Heatran Rescue! where he was assigned to bring a rare Heatran that knows Eruption to a wild park for its safety.
He was also shown to have a very optimistic attitude, thanks to his grandfather's advice when he was younger. Eventually with the help of Ash and co., he managed to capture Heatran via his Capture Styler and helped it escape to safety.

Pichu's only known move is ThunderShock.
Ben and Pichu witness the Pinchers stealing a piece of a monument with a symbol on it. Ukulele Pichu tries to fight against the Pinchers, but when the Pinchers's Cranidos fights back, Pichu is hurled into a wall, breaking its ukulele. The Pinchers successfully escape with the stone symbol, leaving Ben and Pichu to fight Cranidos, which is under the Pinchers's control. Ben successfully captures Cranidos, releasing it back into the wild.
None of it's moves are known.
Ben captured this Heatran in order to stop it from rampaging around and causing trouble.
Heatran's known moves are Eruption and Magma Storm, and its ability is Flash Fire.
Pokémon summoned using the Ranger Sign
Feraligatr was summoned twice by Ben. The first time was to rescue him from falling. Feraligatr was able to carry him across a river, where they met Ash and his friends. The second time was to rescue him again from falling, this time in a volcano. It was then asked to use Ice Beam on the volcano.
