Talk:Team Rocket motto
Manga motto
Uh, Evil Tusks...? --FabuVinny 03:28, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Other languages
Should the other dubs' versions be mentioned as well? They're running gags after all (just in different languages). --Johans 17:42, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- I just don't like the dub motto because they've dumbed it down since the first motto.
- Should a new page with all the Team Rocket's variations in other languages be created? Portuguese Old Man 20:35, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Butch and Cassidy's motto
Actually, they claim it is the REAL motto, and Jessie and James got it wrong. Im a bulba 00:29, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Romaji motto
Can we get the TR Japanese mottos in romaji too? It'd just provide another bit of information for those interested.
Old Motto
Isn't it weird that the first motto talks about stuff like saving the world?Pkmnluvr25 04:00, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Um, no... they were talking about saving the world from love and goodness or something.--Smartkidhen 19:45, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Should we mention that team rocket has been cought because being unable to resist the urge to say their motto?Angel10698 04:25, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Romaji
Shouldn't it say translation instead of romaji?
- Me thinks they are crazy, that's all...OptimatumTalk|♊13:49 7 Mar 2008
- Um, don't we have both the translation AND the romaji? --Theryguy512 20:37, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Cassidy and Butch's motto from Sleight of Sand
Would it be alright if I added it to the page? -- Nebula 12:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Of course, If you don't, someone else will. MoldyOrange 12:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Consider it done then. o7 -- Nebula 13:02, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Put it under Butch and Cassidy...not under Sinnoh. MoldyOrange 13:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I put it under Sinnoh because the Butch and Cassidy bit is a subsection of the original motto, which this isn't. However, I think I could compromise - we just move the Butch and Cassidy part to be a stand-alone part. -- Nebula 13:30, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Just One of the Geysers
In this episode the motto is also altered, but I can't really recognise some words. Interpretations in the Internet look quite dubious to me.
Team Rocket recites this motto upon being spotted in Brawly's secret base stealing food from his fridge.
- Jessie: Prepare for trouble from up on the ridge!
- James: And make it double, 'cause we've raided the fridge!
- Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
- James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
- Jessie: To denounce the evils of a yummy pear!
- James: To extend out reach to a <?>!
- Jessie: Jessie!
- James: James!
- Jessie: Team Rocket blasts of with all the four food groups!
- James: And believe it or not, it includes <?> soups!
- Meowth: <Oi, kavul!>
- Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet!
Since I'm not a native English speaker, maybe someone with better English hearing could add it? If someone has enough time but doesn't have the episode, he/she may download the motto scene (4,6 MB, MPEG-4). --Pokeresp 12:46, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Dutch motto
Is it ok if I add this to the "other languages" section? Or does someone have a problem with it? (if so, please give a good reason) Mijzelffan 13:07, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- That's the purpose of the "other langagues" sections, so, go ahead ;) Portuguese Old Man 16:58, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
"Blasts" or "Blasting?"
This article says the line is "Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!" but I'm pretty sure it's "Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
I definitely haven't heard them say "blasting". Is this a mistake, or... what? :) Mikeleeuk 18:24, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
The star
You know, I never thought of this, but why when the Team Rocket blasts off, they shine like a star in the end? (Blink) --Dr. James 04:25, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- To show they are far far away, I guess. —darklordtrom 06:42, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Does that happen in real life? --Dr. James 05:14, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- About as often as people getting shocked by an electric rodent on a day-to-day basis. There is a thing called artistic license, I guess this comes into play here. —darklordtrom 01:24, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's called a Star KO, there's a page about it over at SmashWiki. I think they used to reference Team Rocket on the page, but it's not there anymore. NotSteve 01:38, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

An Egg Scramble motto
Can anyone figure out what Team Rocket is saying in their most recent motto? There are currently many missing parts to the motto in the list of variations. Team Rocket 13:21, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Missing variations
There are many other variations that aren't listed here. I will write here some of the episodes that have variations: - EP258; - AG088; - AG121; - DP034; - DP037. I'm pretty sure there are some more, but these are the ones I remember. I will try to add them, but since I'm not english, I will require some help.
Also... is that motto from "The Ice Cave" official?
There is also a motto at the end of "Go West Young Meowth" ummm it is EP070Angel10698 03:17, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Isshu plz
Can somebody get it up here? I know its different from Sinnoh. --ケンジのガール 09:54, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- But it's already here; O_o lolKurowaSan 00:17, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
more focus on original mottos
i think this page should focus more on the original mottos, like showing the original mottos they used in the respective regions on the mainpage, then hiding or shifting the variations to another, so a visitor does not have sift through all the variations before finding, say the Isshu motto. AquaDragon (talk) 09:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Variations
The variations desperately need, rather a different article, a subarticle, or to be hidden. The best way in my opinion would be to seperate it into a different article. Then, the actual mottos will be easier to find (heck, it's even hard to find them in the toc) and the variations will all be in one neat little place for the people who actually care about the variations. --Landfish7 00:11, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- I think they just need to be hidden so all you see when you first come to the page is the five mottos and you can unhide the variations if you want to. As for the idea of making a separate article for them, I can see why you might do that, but the variations are still technically the Team Rocket motto so... I don't know. - Vhayes1992 00:54, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- I just made them hidden. The page is not as much of a tower of text anymore. - Vhayes1992 21:56, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Tao's reference in Unova motto
I can't word it good enough, but obviously version mascots of BW are referenced in the last lines of new motto: "The fiery destroyer..." and "...with thunderous emotion..." - Reshiram and Zekrom respectively. Also in Meowth's line "Wisest of the wise..." the word ice could be heard, which could be reference to speculated mascot of the third version (yes, I know the rumors), Kyurem. --ЫъГЬ 19:45, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- It's in trivia now. The Ice thing is a bit convoluted, but Meowth does say 'eternity', and Kyurem's wugi can mean 'infinity' or 'boundlessness'. NotSteve 01:42, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
