Meditite, in reference to its name, resembles a person meditating, sitting with knees bent and feet together with its hands resting on its knees. It also resembles a certain yoga position. Its lower body is blue, with white on the wrists, feet, and what seems to be pants, or possibly a diaper. Its head is also white, with an onion-like shape and large ears. Its eyes are large and seem to be focused.
Gender differences
A male's ears are higher up than a female's.
Special abilities
Its meditation gives it inner strength and spiritual power. It also is able to endure long periods without eating.
Behavior
They are very focused in their practices of meditation and yoga, and seem to be very spiritual Pokémon as well.
Meditite are native to the mountains of Sinnoh, but can also be found in mountanous parts of Hoenn. There have also been sightings insidetemplesinJohto.
Meditite undertakes rigorous mental training deep in the mountains. However, whenever it meditates, this Pokémon always loses its concentration and focus. As a result, its training never ends.
Meditite heightens its inner energy through meditation. It survives on just one berry a day. Minimal eating is another aspect of this Pokémon's training.
It continually meditates for hours every day. As a result of rigorous and dedicated yoga training, it has tempered its spiritual power so much it can fly.
Despite its Emerald Pokédex entry stating that it can fly, it cannot learn the move.
However, it may be talking about meditation, an act which normally shows people floating.
Even if it were referring to levitation by meditation, it can not have the ability Levitate or learn Magnet Rise.
Origin
It resembles a primate of some sort. It appears to have been based on a practitioner of yoga and is meditating in almost all of the media it appears in. Its yoga position in its artwork and sprites is the Lotus, where one crosses his/her legs and places their feet on the opposing thighs. This position supposedly holds the mind completely steady for long periods of time and calms it, heightening the user's senses. Its hat somewhat resembles a turban and may also be the caps worn by many depictions of Hindu deities, such as Shiva, who are commonly seen meditating.
Name origin
Meditite's name is a corruption of meditate and possibly a corruption of tyke, while Asanan is most likely a corruption of asana, which in yoga refers to a pose or posture.
