Trivia
- Tornadus is the first and so far only pure Flying-type Pokémon. However, other Pokémon were able to become pure Flying-types through their abilities, such as Kecleon and Arceus.
- This also makes him the only purely typed Pokémon with a unique type combination.
- Tornadus and Thundurus have identical base stat distribution.
- Tornadus is the only Generation V legendary Pokémon with only one type.
- When Tornadus appears on Route 7, Thundurus's cry is heard.
Origin
Tornadus is based on Fūjin, the kami of wind.
Name origin
The name Tornadus comes from the word tornado.
Tornelos is also from トルネード, tornado.
