Trivia
- Woobat was first seen on concept art from the Best Wishes series along with Servine, Dewott, and Axew.
- Karl in the 13th movie wears a baseball cap with a Woobat depicted on it.
- Woobat's evolutionary line seems to have a connection with Zubat's family. Both of them are Bat Pokémon species, live in caves or other dark places, and have no visible eyes; furthermore, both of them reach their respective fully-evolved form by happiness.
- Also, Woobat and Zubat have somewhat similar English names, both having bat as a suffix.
- Woobat is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 313.
Origin
Bulbanews has an article related to this subject:
Woobat appears to be based on the Honduran white bat, an albino species of fruit bat, and a literal interpretation of a Heart-nosed Bat.
Name origin
Woobat seems to be a combination of woo and bat. It may also invoke wool from its woolly appearance. Koromori seems to come from ころころ korokoro (round) and コウモリ kōmori (bat).
