It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Heatmor is a bipedal, anteater-like Pokémon. It has a beige face while the rest of its fur is red with yellow stripes. On its lower abdomen, back, and underside are raised, beige colored bands, leading to its tail. Its claws, on both its feet and hands, are a dull yellow and on its wrists are raised, dented bands; both the wrists and feet are beige-colored. Its tail is dented upward and has a hole in it, similar in appearance to a muffler. It also seems to serve the same purpose as a muffler, being able to expel gases.

Trivia
- Heatmor and Durant appear to be rivals.
- Unlike most Pokémon rivalries, Durant is at a severe disadvantage against Heatmor since it has a 4× weakness to Heatmor's type. However, this was probably done to reflect that anteaters eat ants.
- Heatmor, along with Torkoal, are the only non-legendary Template:Type2 that have no evolutionary relatives.
- Coincidentally, both of them are the only Pokémon to have White Smoke as one of their abilities.
Origin
Heatmor seems to be based on an anteater, featuring flamethrower and an ironworks into its design. components. Its wrists resemble gun barrels and its tail is similar to a car's muffler.
Name origin
Heatmor is likely a pun on heat and "eat more," as in "eat more ants" or heat and armor. Its name may also be derived from mortar, in reference to its typing and barrel-like arms.
Kuitaran seems to be a combination of the クイ kui "eater" of アリクイ arikui "anteater" and the word "anteater" with the elements reversed. It could also be a combination and reverse of nār, meaning fire in arabic.
