If another Pokémon was hacked with Multitype would it be able to change types depending on the Plate? Gligar 19:22, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

That.....is an excellent question. Too bad I don't know... PL12 19:37, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Skill Swap and Trace are non-hacking ways to get Multitype in-battle. I wonder what does happen.. Just I ain't got no Arceus. Gywall(Talk) 20:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
If somebody could test that, we'd know. PL12 20:26, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Well I know you can't take an Arceus's plate in he middle of battle— it's bonded to it. As for a Pokémon holding a plate getting Multitype Skill Swapped to them... TTEchidna 23:06, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Testing.. Skill Swap AND Trace are not compatible with with Multitype. Sort of like Wonder Guard, but Trace works on Wonder Guard. I'll test a hack in a second. Gywall(Talk) 15:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
It's hard-coded to only work for Arceus. Gywall(Talk) 15:57, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Does Role Play work on it? TorchicBlaziken (talk) 02:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
I know Ditto does. TTEchidna 04:34, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
What about if a Pokémon with two types was hacked with Multitype? Which type (or both?) would be affected? [[User:Falchiar|Falchiar]]( [[User talk:Falchiar|talk]] ) 21:45, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Ditto

The page says "When a Ditto Transforms into Arceus, Ditto becomes Arceus's Normal form. If it is holding a plate, Ditto will Transform into Arceus's current form and then will change type and appearance to the type corresponding to its plate." Does this only work for Ditto's transform? Will it work if Mew does it? CherryParanoia 00:57, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Obviously. How about you do it! --CuboneKing 01:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

A mistake?

On this article it seems to suggest that Arceus' initial type is electric; shouldn't that be Normal? --Chickasaurus 19:52, 23 November 2009

all pages related to Arceus will change type every time you view it. -- MAGNEDETH 19:57, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Wait, can Trick work?

The page doesn't say anything about Trick or Switcharoo. Also, could someone with the tools hack Arceus to be a Dual Type to see how Multitype deals with it? I'm curious to see what happens, if anything Shadowater 18:32, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Mold Breaker (and similar abilities)

Mold Breaker, TeraVoltage, and TurboBlaze are irrelevant to Multitype because they only disable an ability if it would lower or negate the outcome of the user's moves. Multitype doesn't directly do that (it changes the user's type, which may or may not provide resistance, but otherwise does not alter the actual attack). I've removed these abilities from the article. Gymnotide 06:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Effect or Trivia?

If an Arceus holding a plate is hacked to have an ability other than Mutitype, it will still keep its current form, but will revert to Normal-type, regardless of what Plate it is holding, creating a situation not unlike Illusion. However, if Arceus is given a different Plate, its ability will revert to Multitype.

I dont know if I should add this to the Effect section, seeing as its about hacking (and there is a hack-related piece in the trivia). Or would it be more appropriate in Arceus's trivia?. XVuvuzela2010X 22:56, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Roost

If Arceus learns Roost, what happens? Does it become a ???-type (Gen 4) or Normal-type (Gen V)? Or does Multitype prevent the move (or the type change) from working? XVuvuzela2010X 16:26, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Hack-only behaviors

Earlier today, I made an edit mostly to add that all type-changing moves used by Arceus will fail. Now, Arceus cannot learn these moves naturally, but their failure is an effect of Multitype. There are numerous instances of Bulbapedia documenting what happens in situations that are impossible outside of hacking, especially in this article.

I have no desire to get into an edit war over this, but I cannot find any policy that made my original edit unacceptable. As such, I'm reverting the revert of my edit. I will clarify that those moves are hack-only, though. Spweasel 03:42, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

I feel that while hack-only information is interesting, it should probably be limited to the trivia section. --SnorlaxMonster 09:07, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
I agree, something that can't possibly happen isn't useful to players, also I havn't seen any other instances of articles stating effects that can only be obtained through hacking, other than multitype basically any combination of moves and abilities are possible.
