Trivia

  • Tornadus is the only pure Flying-type Pokémon. However, other Pokémon were able to temporarily become pure Flying types through their Abilities or moves, such as Kecleon and Arceus.
    • This also makes him the only purely typed Pokémon with a unique type 'combination'.
  • Tornadus and Thundurus have identical base stat distribution.
  • Tornadus is the only Generation V legendary Pokémon with only one type.
  • When Tornadus appears on Route 7, Thundurus's cry is heard.
  • Tornadus is the last single-type Pokémon in National Pokédex order.
  • Tornadus has a similar appearance to Lakitu from the Mario series.

Origin

Tornadus is based on Fūjin, the kami of wind.

Name origin

Both Tornadus and Tornelos are from the word "tornado".
