Team Dim Sun is the third chapter of the Darkrai Mission Story: Pokémon Ranger Batonnage - the Comic manga.
Synopsis
A Rampardos bursts into the entrance hall and splits them up, forcing Barlow and Crawford away from the rest of the group. The two send their partner Pokémon to attack it, unsure if it's wild or not. Heath appears and explains the Rampardos is his and he and the rest of the Sinis Trio are planning on restarting Team Dim Sin. Barlow realises Ice and Lavana are also in the building and sends Hitomi and Hajime to find them. As the rangers refuse, Barlow orders them as their base leader. Reluctantly agreeing, Hajime runs off, forcing Professor Hastings and Hitomi to chase after him. They reach the elevator, but it is broken. Hitomi shows off her mechanic skills as she fixes it and calls it down to the ground floor. Whilst they wait, Hitomi worried about the faits of Crawford and Barlow and Hajime asks the Professor how he got stuck on the girders where they found him. Professor Hastings explains he was climbing the tower to visit Iori when something dragged him outside the building by his collar. As he was being dragged towards the top of the building, he got caught on the girders. Hitomi realises it was Darkrai who dragged him, surprising the Professor. The two rangers and their partners take the lift to the tenth floor, leaving a very stunned Professor Hastings behind.
Hajime brings Hitomi into the command room, where he explains it was used by Blake Hall to mastermind Team Dim Sun when Hajime disbanded them. Hajime recalls a newspaper article explaining how the Dark Crystal was changed by the Blue, Red and Yellow gems into the Lumina Crystal, but realises the fish Pokémon in the nearby tank are definitely being controlled by the same darkness he put a stop to. Ice and Lavana, sitting in the swivel chairs, come into view, explaining they removed the three gems and returned the Lumina Crystal to its former state as the Dark Crystal. Whilst Hitomi doesn't know who they are, Hajime remembers them as the other two members of the Sinis Trio. Ice uses his Froslass to freeze Hitomi and Hajime from the waist down, stopping them from moving and from using their stylers as their hands are also frozen. Ice comments that with their partner Pokémon, legs and stylers frozen, they are easy to be defeated. He adds another tried to stop them, and when Hajime asks who Darkrai appears at the window, answering his question. Hajime is shocked to see his old colleague weak and in pain. As Ice tells them Darkrai was attacked because he tried to stop them from taking the three gems, Hitomi is upset whilst Hajime furiously realises it was Darkrai who tried to drag Professor Hastings to the top of the tower to show him what the Sinis Trio were doing and to ask for help. Lavana reveals the Sinis Trio still have some Pokémon-controlling devices that were hidden in the Oil Rig that Hajime and Sven attacked previously and powers one of them up. Hitomi tells Hajime to think of something, but he merely tries to think of a time he read about where something like this has happened before. Hitomi snaps at him to shut up and orders him to release his capture disk. When he asks why, she explains when she fiddled with his styler back at his house, she strengthened the ejector mechanism so it may be possible to launch the capture disk through ice and set Hajime free, since her own new styler isn't strong enough for it. Hajime thinks about when he captured the Togekiss before, and remembers silently that he was unsure if he'd make the capture, although he now realises it was because of Hitomi he could launch the capture disk that high up. Snapping out of his thoughts, Hajime tries to think of some Pokémon to capture when he sees the water Pokémon in the tank. As Ice begins to count down to the activation of the Dark Crystal, Hajime manages to free his hand and send the capture disk into the tank. Hitomi remembers that whilst Area Stylers need antenna to work, Vattonage Stylers only require the fingers to move. Without Ice or Lavana noticing, Hajime captures a Huntail and orders it to smash out of the tank, therefore stopping the countdown. The action also frees Hajime, Hitomi and the Pacharisus. The Pacharisus then jump on the washed-up Ice and Lavana's heads and swipe the blue and red gems, giving them to their rangers. Before Ice and Lavana have time to recover, the two rangers rush towards the balcony where they saw Darkrai.
Upon arriving on the balcony, they realise Darkrai has gone. Hajime turns as he hears someone call his name and sees a black-clad man and Darkrai emerge from behind the bulk of the tower. Hajime prepares to rush over to Darkrai, but stops when he recognises the man. Hitomi asks Hajime who he is, but before he can reply, the man scolds them for running through the hallways and threatens them with another suspension or perhaps expulsion. Behind him, Darkrai has an evil glint in it's eyes.
