Talk:List of glitches in Generation V
Daily events
I think I found a glitch with things you can do daily (battle in black city, ride the ferris wheel, ect.). If you attempt to do it again the next day, the game will act as if you already did everything. - unsigned comment from Auragirl (talk • contribs)
- You probably changed DS or the clock on the DS. Doing either of these will suspend all daily events for 24 hours. --SnorlaxMonster 15:47, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
ok, I just forgot I used my sister's ds that day. But why isn't there anything here about the fainted pokemon glitch?Auragirl 01:14, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Do you mean the false glitch mentioned two sections below this, or something else? --SnorlaxMonster 10:02, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
I mean the one where a pokemon faints, but the hp bar will stay and show 1hp even though the pokemon has fainted. I have had it happen to me several times already. Go look on youtube if you dont understand.Auragirl 12:56, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I have a battle video saved (not mine), 72-38980-27648, which I believe is similar to what you are talking about, but the HP bar does not stay. I have heard of the other one however. I believe we do not note it because we do not know why it happens, or even a way to make it consistently occur. --SnorlaxMonster 13:20, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
ok. If it helps, it usually happens to me when i'm having a double battle in the giant chasm or when i'm battling the trainer with the dynamicpunching machamp in black city.Auragirl 04:24, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Icirrus Gym glitch
Well, I found the actual glitch for the Icirrus gym glitch. However, since I had no access to a camcorder at the time, Zowayixx created a video. I later recorded my own glitch and put it on this page, but someone keeps reverting it back. I did discover that glitch.(see Zow's video description) Pupcakepup 15:36, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- The discoverer is unimportant. Zowayixx's video doesn't have background noise, and yours reall isn't better than his in any way. --SnorlaxMonster 15:47, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- Just in case you wanted a reference, I can confirm she did discover it. OwnageMuch 22:58, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
I tried this out in White 2 and I couldn't walk through the rocks like in BW. CraftyWeavile (talk) 23:33, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Double battle glitch
I encountered this one glitch today in White, or so I think it's a glitch, and was wondering if it could be investigated into and maybe added. I was in a double battle, and both of my Pokemon had fainted on the exact same turn. I went to 'Shift' my Beartic out. But when I went to pick my second choice, which was a healthy Emboar, it wouldn't let me. I tried the other healthy Pokemon, and nothing. It kept telling me "____ cannot be sent out" despite them being perfectly healthy. In the end, it wouldn't let me send out anything, and I was basically just stuck there and forced to turn off the DS. So yeah, that's it. Rai Marshall 05:27, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I've also encountered this glitch (a lot) in my White (UK), put me right off the double battles. XVuvuzela2010X 06:07, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- From memory, I believe you have to select which Pokémon you wish to exchange it with. it isn't a glitch just a bit counter-intuitive. Basically, because both Pokémon have just fainted, if you just select Emboar, then it does not know which spot to put it in. Select a fainted Pokémon first, then you should be able to switch out (I know I was confused the first time as well)Dion24 06:50, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, this has tricked a lot of people. It's not a glitch. If both Pokémon faint at the same time, you need to pick the Pokémon you are going to send in, then the Pokémon you are going to swap it for, then the Pokémon you are going to send in again. --SnorlaxMonster 07:55, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, that certainly is counter-intuitive. I think I'm actually a bit more confused now, but whatever. Rai Marshall 03:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Ill see if I can explain. This occurs if the two simultaneous fainting pokemon are in the first and second slot. In order to fix it, select one of your pokemon that isnt knocked out. At the Summery/Check moves/Shift screen, hit "Shift" as normal. You will be returned to the main pokemon selection screen. At this point, tap the fainted first-slot pokemon. This will shift the non-fainted pokemon into the first slot, as if you had changed its order out of battle. At this point you can proceed normally. Hope that cleared it up. Mistralton gym glitch
There is a glitch in the mistralton gym: By shooting yourself using the second last cannon, you'll be thrown at the wall instead of the ground. You should try it yourself. Flygonfanno1
- Nope, that is intentional. If it were a glitch, you would probably go through the wall. --SnorlaxMonster 12:04, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Battle Subway Glitch
Hey, I've just encountered a glitch while on the BS. I was using my Dusknoir and Banette (Dream World abilities) in the Double Train and used Curse and Toxic on the foe Ducklett. Eventually the foe Ducklett's HP NEVER reduces, even when afflicted by poison, curse and attacked. Thus, I was forced to quit. Lugia61617 17:39, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Did you save the film? Hezekiah 17:46, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- No, unfortunately... But I have found, on later attempts, that it seemed any time a combination of Curse and poisoning via Toxic is used on a pokemon - notably the left one - would stop going down (originally I believed this to be only when it hit 1 HP, though in the second test the Pokemon was stuck with green health). Strangely my third attempt at replicating this failed as the glitch didn't occur... Lugia61617 18:11, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Pinwheel Forest and Moor of Icirrus music glitch
I finally got around making a video of a glitch I discovered some time ago.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp5JI-n2Gps) I haven't seen this documented anywhere yet, so should it be added here? Hheebo 22:03, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'd say go ahead, there's nothing stopping you as long as it's valid and can be replicated. --Chickasaurus 22:33, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- Created an entry for it. My cart is European, bought 3/4/11 but I'm fairly certain it works on all versions. If someone wants to make a better video, be my guest, the quality of my camera is kinda bad and I didn't have a platform to stabilize it. Hheebo 12:09, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
1 hp glitch
I was battling the elite four trying to evolve yanma, and he had already leveled up so i switched him out so he would stop getting exp. and an attack that should have killed him didn't and he was left with 1 hp but i couldn't attack or switch out or use items or anything so i had to turn my 3ds off. this happened again today when i was training a duskull to evolve and i was trying to purposely lose so i could check on a pokemon in gts but the game acted like he fainted but he had 1 hp left and i switched to my volcarona and the game froze. sorry for no capitalization or punctuation im just typing this really fast. MasterGiygas 03:38, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- It's another version of the fainted pokemon glitch. We don't know what triggers this glitch but try to put it on this talk page whenever it happens.Auragirl 15:42, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- That happened to me a few times, too. Apparently (at least in this instance) you can't switch out, use items, or even Struggle. I think it happens mostly if you send out a low-leveled Pokémon against a much higher-level Pokémon. Here's a link [1]. Dimenticare (talk) 19:18, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Walk through NPCs glitch
I was playing Pokemon White on the school bus and I accidently walked through a NPC. It happened when I walked onto the same spot as someone else at the exact same time as they did. It happened twice, actually, once with the guy in the house on route 14, and once with the old lady that tells stories in Lacunosa town, but inside of the house. The NPCs did not move, but I could walk out of them. Also, there isn't any way to do this glitch other than just timing it right. PokemonPearl 23:53, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Wrong Pokemon Glitch?
Hi guys. I found a glitch where if you hatch a traded level 1 Zorua in the front of your party, have an Archen at the back of your party, and enter a wild Pokemon battle, the Zorua will be called "Archen" and have Archen's sprite, but still function as Zorua.
That's Zorua's ability, Illusion. Yamiidenryuu 23:23, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
PP Glitch
I found a glitch in Pokémon White where if you replace a move with less PP than the move the Pokémon is trying to learn, then the new move will only have that much PP until you heal it at the Pokémon Center. For example, if you get rid of Sheer Cold, which has 5 PP, and replace it with Surf, which has 15 PP, Surf's PP will be 5/15 instead of 15/15 until you heal at a Pokémon Center. Is this worth mentioning? It can happen with any move. (Charizard101 23:19, 7 April 2012 (UTC))
- That's not a glitch. It's intended to keep players from using TMs multiple times to restore PP. See here --Darth Zekrom 00:53, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. :) (Charizard101 20:26, 8 April 2012 (UTC))
Relic Castle Glitch
Thanks to whoever updated this section! :) I couldn't figure out exactly where it was, since I didn't have my Black game with me at the moment. (KyuremsIceBlade 22:58, 13 April 2012 (UTC))
Is this considered a Glitch?
When leveling up against the Elite Four, in the middle of the battle the Pokémon I am leveling up has a messed up HP level. For example, instead of saying HP 150/150, It would say HP 151/150. If my Pokémon does not have the ability Sturdy, and then is KO'd by a Pokémon; it will freeze my game and say that the Pokémon has fainted with 1 HP remaining. 태권도 합기도 11:09, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- It sounds like an extension of the 1 HP fainting glitch mentioned in a few sections above this one. Never heard of it having an effect before the faint, though. Hmm. Yamiidenryuu 14:09, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Are these glitches?
The track doesn't change to the instrumental one if you use Fly within Opelucid City. I flew from the Gym to the PokéCenter and the music did not change. I noticed this in White. The second's in Opelucid City as well, inside the Gym: There is a ledge square before the first dragon, where you can walk on air on both sides. The area you can walk on is only one square. Ariano 07:11, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
- The first one is a glitch, the second one I can't find the tile you're talking about. --SnorlaxMonster 13:12, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I've tried the second one and it does indeed seem to be a glitch. You can walk on either side of one of the little staircases. I'll try and see if I can find the place again and get photographs. Yamiidenryuu 22:09, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Can't wait. The Gen V gitches is actually my fave page. In fact, the only rrason I joined here was to post a barrellload of glitches that I found.
I even started doing the craziest glitch tests recently. (Yes, I tried to surf while facing out the door in Cafe Warehouse.)
Back on topic, I don't get the first glitch. Can it be explained any simpler please? PS I found a third glitch. You see the 2 small pyramids at the bottom when you enter the gym? You can walk on them. - unsigned comment from AWild------Appeared (talk • contribs)
- Well, I am not sure for 100%. Assist in Generation III wouldn't call Eggs' moves, according to article it doesn't that in Gen IV either, but it can call Eggs' moves in Gen V. And, description seems like if it shouldn't, as description mentions only Pokémon, not Eggs. Also, please check if the things you found are actually glitches. If you're unsure, ask someone, like SnorlaxMonster. Marked +-+-+ 12:50, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- I believe AWild------Appeared was referring to the first glitch mentioned in this section, not the first glitch listed on the page (if you did mean the Assist Egg glitch, then I apologize). Since the term "variable scoring" isn't that well known, I added the musicians next to each town name. As for the Opelucid Gym glitch, you are not walking on top of the pyramids, but behind them. Try taking a step back; that is the tile that the pyramid occupies. Anyway, I actually prefer having the questions asked on these talk pages, since I still see them and other people can answer them too if they want. --SnorlaxMonster 13:19, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
I still don't get it. Do you mean if you fly from opelucid to nacrene and you aproach the acordion man he would sound like violin? ps i think you can go through those pyramids, VERY SLIGHTLY :) And the solid blocks before the gym pedestal. Glitch? AWild------Appeared 16:45, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, that's where you're confused. You need to fly to the town you're already in; I'll clarify that in the article. As for the pyramids, I don't see any clipping. I'm unsure about those Gym pedestals; no other Gym pedestal does it, so I think they are. --SnorlaxMonster 11:21, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
NOW I see. When you're near the musician the music stickes when you fly to where you are.
Mabye you're right about the pyramids. If you're wanting to know about the floating guy glitch: You see the sloping bit b4 the first dragon tail? Press ^ or v and float.
PS When you reach the gym leader you cant walk on the shadowed bits at the very back. Glitch? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE14:39, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I found the walking on air glitch thanks to your description. I don't think the shadowed tiles behind the Gym Leader is a glitch though. --SnorlaxMonster 14:50, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
I can't put up this video.
My article editing skills (like I have any) have failed me. I have this video that you need for the Fainted Pokemon Glitch section but I can't put it up. Here is the link so somebody else can. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWXjGusQZd0 --DrBrock

Bronzong "glitch"
The fact that Bronzong's eyes flash when on the field but not in the summary or Pokedex screens is not a glitch. If you'll notice, Pokemon will always blink randomly on the field but only perform their set animations elsewhere. This likely isn't a glitch because the blinking is random and an addition to the Pokemon's set animation; it is likely a mechanic that is intentionally activated only during battle.
The flashing of Bronzong's eyes IS its blinking. It just can't close its eyes as most Pokemon can, so they flash white. That runs on the same generator that causes Pokemon's eyes to randomly blink in battle but not in the summary or Pokedex. It is not a glitch. Kianglo 02:15, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I can see the reasoning behind Kianglo's view on the 'glitch'. If one were to look at spritesheets for the Pokemon in Gen V, there are several 'parts' that make up the whole sprite and some are stored differently (see here for example: http://spriters-resource.com/ds/pokemonblackwhite/sheet/34139 ). One of the main parts stored differently are the Pokemon's eyes, which is used for making them close when put to sleep. Because it's independent from the main sprite we'd see, different things can be applied to them during battle or out of battle, such as blinking.
- In short I'd like to second that this isn't a glitch, but rather just differing sprite behavior. Chicobo329 05:35, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Not Sure
I found a few trainers that can be battled multiple times if you leave the route and go back onto it. When you walk in front of them you engage in battle again. Tybo10000 01:40, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- In B2W2, Breeders do this. It is very unlikely to be a glitch. --SnorlaxMonster 08:01, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
PokéRus
hi i recently went to celestial tower and rang the bell 5 times in a row then i battled a couple of litwick using my roserade when i left the tower all of the Pokémon in my party had pokerus is this a glitchPachirisupancakes (talk) 19:32, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- It means that you likely encountered a wild Litwick with PokéRus, made contact with it, and spread it through your whole party. --SnorlaxMonster 08:01, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
omg!i must be the luckiest pokemon trainer ever my first main series pokemon game was heartgold and i already have 14 legitamate shiny pokemon and 19 pokemon with pokerus!!!!♥♥♥♥Pachirisupancakes (talk) 20:06, 20 August 2012 (UTC) I seriously don't know. Liberty Garden Fly glitch
Hi, I don't know if you noticed that glitch I've recently added... it's a glitch in which the Liberty Garden point on the map becomes red when selected, as it could be flown to, something that doesn't happen when the player selects any of the other green points. Now I am asking the ones who have got B2W2: could you please test your games in order to know if they have also got that glitch, as it's just confirmed to be present in BW? Thanks. TheOriginalOne 20:11, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Celestial Tower and Wellspring Cave B-button glitches
Are we entirely sure these are glitches? I was under the impression that they were in place to trip up players who try to run past the NPCs without battling. You can see a similar thing happening with NPCs that just turn in place- if you try to run past them and you're close enough, they'll turn your way and thus notice you if you haven't fought them yet. Could someone look into this? Yamiidenryuu (talk) 02:39, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- I personally think they're glitches. At least Celestial Tower, which is the one I remember the best, it happens if you just press B, running or not. --It's Funktastic~! (talk) 02:52, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Same thing happens at Wellspring Cave. You just press the B-button and they take a certain amount of steps depending on the trainer class. (The Black Belt moves two steps and the Battle Girl moves only one if the button isn't spammed.) With four presses of the B-button (and giving the time to walk) you can avoid all of them. Super goku (talk) 01:25, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- The NPCs I mentioned before act like that, too- they look at you if you press B, even if you don't move. I still think it's just a variant on that. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 16:29, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Game Layout Peek
Hey, are you sure that those weird freezes really just happen when you remove the cartridge from the system? I mean, could those visual glitches also appear if the DS suddenly froze up for other reasons? TheOriginalOne 17:05, 25 August 2012 (UTC) Well yeah, maybe it would happen for other freezes. But what easier is it to freeze your game than to remove your game card? Trying to spawn a 3TrainerPoké in Pokémon White? - A Wild (?) Appeared 11:12, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
About the Skyla glitch in B2W2
Do you think we should put an image of Skyla's sprite from B2W2 in the section describing her sprite glitch, for illustration purposes? Haxorus 16:08, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think that with the proper description it would be useful. Ask it to SnorlaxMonster, please. TheOriginalOne 16:10, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Assist egg glitch
I thought that that was not a glitch. It happened to me in black
- Well, in previous generations it did not take use any moves from an Egg. Since an Egg cannot use any move (or battle anyways) it seems to be a mistake for Assist to use the moves of Eggs. Super goku (talk) 01:45, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
- No, this has been bugging me, how sure are we that it's a glitch and not a new feature of Assist? - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) 14:12, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hm, if we know if this has been changed between BW to B2W2, then it would point towards a glitch in how Assist works will Eggs. If it does not change, then we might have to wait until the next game comes out to see what happens. That is a very good point. Super goku (talk) 00:25, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Missing shadow glitch
I've found a "glitch" in B2W2. In White Forest, outside that big tree, there is a tree that doesn't have a shadow/the lower part of the model. I dunno if this is more of an error than a glitch, but I wanted to tell you. MAN B2W2 has a lot of glitches! Link here: [2]
Mattii (talk) 13:28, 8 September 2012 (UTC) (Mucrush)
- I would say it is a graphical glitch, like a grass tile outside of Floccesy Ranch. In any case, consider it added. (I would like to note that I believe there is fewer glitches from B2W2 at the moment than most games.) Super goku (talk) 23:07, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Season change error?
I was playing my copy of Pokemon White this morning and put my Piloswine and witdraw Petilil while giving it a Lucky Egg. As soon as I exited the Pokemon Center in Lacunosa Town and the screen rapidly changed the season from Autumn all the way to Spring! I went to check my Deerling in the PC and it still had the Autumn sprite. I began playing the game again a few minutes ago and the game had indeed changed to the Spring season. Maybe the glitch was caused by not playing for 2 months. Anyone else able to replicate this glitch? Frozen Fennec 20:11, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- This usually happens every time you haven't played for at least 2 months. It happens all the time in the game from what I've seen. ㄱ쉰 G50 20:26, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- The game ALWAYS skips the non-played seasons, which are just updated when you're outside. That's no glitch! The programmers HAD that in mind.
- The Deerlings and Sawsbucks, from the moment you catch them, never change form again.
Next time try to get started in a matter that you consider that weird, just to be sure it's a glitch. TheOriginalOne 16:59, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- Deerling and Sawsbuck do what? I might be no genius, neither I have any of these on hand now but article says other thing: In both instances, the Pokémon will change forms when the season changes (when the players exits a cave or building) while it is in the party. (also, seasons only update when the place "transites", like exiting caves, buildings, or the exiting/entering Floccesy Ranch) Marked +-+-+ (talk) 17:22, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Unused area in P2 Lab (BW)
If you use cheats that let you walk through walls, then go into the P2 Labatory building, and keep walking down, you will find some unused tables and chairs. Could we include this in the article?
...
.....
You know, that puts me in mind of Minecraft's Far Lands. You basically use cheats to walk through walls, keep walking out of the level for about 34 days (using mods to teleport there is way easier), you will come across some glitchy terrain. I wonder if there is something similar in Pokémon... - A Wild (?) Appeared 17:17, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
That sounds like material for the Gen V beta page, rather than this one. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 18:00, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, think we should put it in. But then again, it's quite glitchy!! - A Wild (?) Appeared 18:18, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Nope, it's more beta than a glitch. It must have been put there purposely at some point, but then was supposed to be removed but was forgotten about. Or is there for some other unknown reason. Not for this page. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 18:21, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

A semi-glitches section?
Make a semi-glitches section for the page, where we can list old, forgotten "glitches" like the Bike speed glitch, Bike music glitch 2 and these B-Button glitches. - A Wild (?) Appeared 19:23, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Nope, it's all glitches: some may be more minor than others, but it's all glitches! Once a list of minor glitches used to exist on Bulbapedia, but then it was deleted and now it redirects to Glitch. I think such thing happened because of controversy about how to tell one from another, and also, this page is supposed to show all the glitches, but with the main ones (not meaning that all the other ones shoulkd be considered minor) being on a separate article, redirected to as the main page on the section from here. Just ignore. TheOriginalOne 19:34, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- The reason the List of minor glitches article no longer exists is that it was getting incredibly long and the definition of "minor" was debatable. It was split into five different lists for each generation (one of which is this page) and a spin-off games list, and these lists include all glitches rather than just minor ones. --SnorlaxMonster 08:58, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
Random game freezing
I used to get it often. - A Wild (?) Appeared 19:23, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Just don't be ridiculous!Yeah, it also happens to me a lot, but not because it's a glitch. It's right to say that many glitches cause freezing, but the "random" ones happen due to things like a damaged console (that's my case). TheOriginalOne 19:34, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
When you said that's my case, I thought for a sec you were putting your case into the DS. I was like wth? lol. For me, it either happens when I drop my DS, or when I take out the card during gameplay. Talking of dropping DS's, I accidentally dropped mine out of the top bunk. Big cracks appeared on the top screen and then some big black blotches appeared. I actually got really sad and started crying like a 2 yr old with its hand cut off. I'm getting another DS, but I'm keeping my old one too. - A Wild (?) Appeared 19:40, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- The game freezing is not a glitch! Dropping the console will obviously make the game freeze! As will taking the game out. Not glitches! ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 22:05, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, but they can cause them. - A Wild (?) Appeared 11:51, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
- No, the game freezing causes you to reset your console. It doesn't cause glitches... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:08, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, sometimes, it can cause the graphics to become odd, cause a glitch song, or makes early game screens look like multiple colourful vertical lines (Game freeze). [/argument]. - A Wild (?) Appeared 12:54, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, when are you going to understand?... yeah, the graphics becoming odd glitch is already documented here. About the rest, it's just too much minor: can you imagine the music flowing to the columns? Now what happens if everything stops flowing? Yeah, unless it is still memorized on the console, it will obviously get stuck in the same sound, causing that scary effect. About the colorful vertical liunes, I think you're talking about the early games: in there, that's the basic picture, nothing special. - Actually, sometimes, it can cause the graphics to become odd, cause a glitch song, or makes early game screens look like multiple colourful vertical lines (Game freeze). [/argument]. - A Wild (?) Appeared 12:54, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Biker speed glitch
I doubt it's an optical illusion- it happens even if you're standing still, as long as you're holding down the B button. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 23:47, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
- ...so I think we need a video, because many people could think that. Don't you? TheOriginalOne 00:01, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
- Fine, I'll try to provide one and upload it ASAP. Chicobo329 (talk) 00:03, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't think it's a glitch and more so something that was planned. I believe it works with some people not even on bikes in BW2. Hyper Shadow (talk) 20:08, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- It's a glitch because of its unusual behavior. It's not even restricted to bikers, as the Smashers and Hoopsters in Village Bridge also exhibit this behavior and that 'heartbreaker' Charles does not speed up when B is held Chicobo329 (talk) 20:49, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Breeders in BW2
There a possible glitch that's being talked about that I've seen where Breeders battle you every time leave re-enter a route eg Route 4. Is this a glitch or simply a characteristic of the trainer? The confusion is my opinion is that it's unusual that they would implement something like that in the sequels and not the originals. Thanks Tadzo (talk) 21:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- It's a new thing. Also on purpose. Not a glitch. One of them even says "I'll battle you every time you visit!" or something like that.--Abcboy (talk) 21:36, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- In fact an NPC even mentions that a nearby Pokemon Breeder rebattles you. Just a new feature to attempt to compensate for the lack of a Vs. Seeker. Chicobo329 (talk) 01:36, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Kyurem formes glitch?
I saw this video online and I was wondering if someone could try to replicate it since I cannot do so at this time. [[3]] --Super goku (talk) 01:34, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- You can't have two different forms of Kyurem at once. The DNA Splicers' description actually changes once it has been used, and cannot fuse Pokémon if it has already fused two. It appears he hacked White Kyurem into existence then used the DNA Splicers to merge two, put Black Kyurem in the fused Pokémon holding zone (as the data has to be kept somewhere), the defused the other one, resulting in Kyurem and the Pokémon in the holding zone. --SnorlaxMonster 09:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, thank you for mentioning that. I did not have the games at the time and was just getting to the part involving Kyurem. Thank you for the reply. :) --Super goku (talk) 04:54, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
Is this a glitch?
When my Zoroark's HP is at red, it plays the alarm. After its Illusion wears off, the alarm restarts. --Abcboy (talk) 17:54, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Restarts? You mean the music track skips back to the beginning? Sounds like another minor glitch to me. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 18:08, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Glitches or features?
I'm not sure that all of the things listed here would actually count as glitches. For instance, the "N glitch" doesn't seem like a glitch at all; rather, it's very likely that Game Freak didn't intend for you to get into battles or leave the area until you'd finished with N. The "Biker speed bug" is debatable; it could very well be a feature to prevent the player from just running to evade Trainers (similarly to how trainers who rotate in place do so faster when running). --AndyPKMN (talk) 13:38, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- The "N glitch" is my fault since I thought at the time that you were stuck with N following the player if N appeared in two spots. (I will fix that in a bit though it would be nice if an english video can be found.) --Super goku (talk) 20:23, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I've said before that the "B-button glitches" in general likely aren't glitches- there's trainers in most of the games that look right at you if you try to run past them. It's not even the B-button that does it, since auto-run in HGSS will get their attention as well. BW just expanded on it. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 01:14, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- The only thing that stops me short on the B button glitch is that it happens even if you press B without moving anywhere. If you just hold B while standing still there will still be a speed increase. And this behavior only happens with certain NPC types rather than all of them. This doesn't seem like consistent behavior to me and it reminds me a lot of a similar run-button bug in the Earthbound Zero US prototype/Mother 1+2 compilation. Not having encounters while N is with is likely because N has no backsprite and entering a battle with him following you can potentially mess up the game or cause strange behavior; this makes it more of a failsafe rather than a glitch.Chicobo329 (talk) 06:59, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- (N glitch - Two Ns can appear. If this occurs, then it appears that the player is stuck as N will not be able to leave and the player cannot leave. See the video for more information.) <-- That is the best I can explain what the N Glitch should mean. Maybe it should be renamed something else to help since N glitch wasn't a good choice now that I think about it. --Super goku (talk) 01:39, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

OT Change Glitch?
Along time ago when Black and White first came out, I was visiting my cousin and we were both playing Black. (English version BTW). I was around Pinwheel forest while she was already at Route 4. We were playing around, and we would catch Pokemon, give them weird nicknames and trade them to each other. Later when I came home my brother was looking at the Pokemon my cousin traded to me. I was telling him she caught them, but he said "No, they're yours, it says that the OT is you" and I was like what? Sure enough, two of the Pokemon my cousin traded to me had me as the OT. It didn't make sense since I wasn't at that part of the game yet, and she gave them the nicknames. I was able to rename them in my game too, and they didn't get boosted EXP. the two Pokemon were Sandile and Darumaka. I think this glitch only appeared on my game and I don't think it happened on my cousin's. We have both restarted our games by now and the Pokemon are gone, but I still find this really odd. Nothing has happened like this since. Tl;dr, the Pokemon my cousin traded to me somehow got the OT and ID switched to mine. --Ondelez46regigigas (talk) 06:14, 14 November 2012 (UTC) this happened to me with a gts pachirisu but i couldnt change the nickname even though they had my ot and my id number i was playing european black btw i still have the pokemon if anyone wants proofPachirisupancakes (talk) 14:40, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

The trainers in Celestial Tower have changed, and none of them react to the B button, so I guess you could call that "fixed." KyuremsIceBlade (Talk) (Contribs) 03:19, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I tried to confirm the "invisible wall" glitch in the Dreamyard as was unable to (walked on all seemingly open tiles all around all three stair cases attached to the basement, above and below ground). If I could get a screenshot of the glitched area in BW I could more completely confirm that it has been fixed Vlad.frostbringer (talk) 14:11, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't have an image of it, but the row of tiles directly to the left of the staircase in the upper right corner of the map (on the outside) cannot be walked on in BW. --SnorlaxMonster 15:35, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Check this out. I beat Cilan and Chili with an Amulet Coin and Prize Money Power ↑↑↑, and got this. [4] ?3680 pokedollars as prize money. The total multiplier with AC/LI and PMP↑↑↑ seems to be 6x and the base money from beating the brothers in Challenge Mode is 17280, so I got 103680. But there's only space for five digits so there's a ? instead of a 10. Hheebo (talk) 17:54, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Mail Glitch?
I found a glitch on my Pokemon White Version 2 game; it's a glitch with the mail. After trading with a friend, I read the mail, and I decided to check the Pokemon. Its ability description disappeared not even a second after I tried to read it (it reappears when you check on another Pokemon's stats and back). Here's the video I recorded of the glitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz9ATutPWv0. Does anyone know why this happens? --AlbeinoLucario (talk) 22:57, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea why that might happen, but I can confirm another incident of it with my White 2 and a Magnemite I got off the GTS. Nice to know I wasn't hallucinating... Yamiidenryuu (talk) 23:09, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- I can confirm it too. I've done additional testing and found if you instead view a different Pokémon's Ability, it also disappears. If you leave the menu and then go back in, the Ability description still disappears. If you first view another Pokémon's information screen, scroll to another Pokémon's screen, and then view the Ability text, it still disappears. However, if the game is saved, an Egg hatched, the Bag opened, or a battle initiated between reading the mail and checking the Ability, the description will not disappear. --Abcboy (talk) 01:50, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Triple Battle Hp # Glitch?
In the PWT, I was facing Janine in a triple battle. I wasn't paying much attention, but at one point I noticed that my HP bar was now gone; it had been replaced with numerical values. In the next battle, it had changed back to the usual green bar without number. Could somebody please try to figure this out? CraftyWeavile (talk) 01:22, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Two glitches I came across
First off, the Join Avenue one seems to have happened to me, but it happened after I transferred my DS data from my Lite to my 3DS, so I wonder if it isn't a glitch, but just a way to prevent time changing abuse (since the times are going to vary ever so slightly)?
Secondly, my Dialga, when transferred from Pearl to White at the same time as Palkia, somehow learned Spacial Rend. Anybody else experience this, or can we just file this under, "Somebody's game had a hiccup that is likely never going to happen again"? --Shadowater (talk) 07:53, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
Giant Chasm time glitch
Just happened to pass by giant chasm at night when it turn to morning instead. It's not because the clock just happened to hit morning thus the change. Mareep/Lass Molly Glitch?
I don't know if this is a glitch, but if you force the Mareep up to the Lass, she'll run into it (Like if the play character stood next to her, she'd run into the player.) I have video of this and can put a link up.☆glaceon☆ (talk) 00:58, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- I don't see how that's a glitch? The Mareep is solid like the player, so she's going to run into it like she would the player, It'd be a glitch if she ran through it like it wasn't there. Yamiidenryuu (talk) 04:13, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Alright, just checking.☆glaceon☆ (talk) 16:46, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
"Biker Speed Glitch" not a glitch
As far as I can tell, the "Biker Speed Glitch" is not a glitch at all. It only happens with trainers who are either actively playing a sport (the smashers and hoopsters at the Village Bridge) or are on some sort of vehicle (bikers and cyclists). This suggests, to me at least, that it is a feature, to make it seem like the bikers are speeding up and the people playing sports are running faster at the same time you do.
Besides, the effect is incredibly obvious, so I would think it would be one of the first things fixed for Black and White 2 if it was a glitch.--Pkmn (talk) 07:14, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- I really don't know why there's such a debate over this particular glitch. People against the idea that it's a glitch say it's just a way to make it harder for players to avoid the trainers. However the fact they exhibit this abnormal behavior when you hold B, even while sitting still (this is important!), suggest otherwise. There have been games with NPC speed glitches related to a run button before, the best example off the top of my head is Mother/Earthbound Zero. Chicobo329 (talk) 11:11, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- The bike speed behaviour alone does appear to be a glitch; however, when you see that there are all these other B button behaviours, many of which are complex enough that they couldn't be unintentional (such as the Celestial Tower Trainers skipping facing the wall and all the different ways the Wellspring Cave Trainers respond to the B button), there is sufficient evidence that the cyclists speeding up due to pressing B is intentional. Even if it is, it is better to assume things are not glitches until there is sufficient reason to believe so. --SnorlaxMonster 15:55, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

2 New PokéStar Studios glitches
Excuse me for my lack of wikicode knowledge, but I have discovered 2 new glitches, which are:
- 1st, PokéStar Studios U-turn/Volt Switch glitch: When the Pokémon uses U-turn/Volt Switch in a film instead of giving the message "(Pokémon)-went-back-to-(Trainer's name)." it will say instead "(Pokémon)-went-back-to--." (I used - for spaces to show that the name becomes a blank space). This happens whether or not the name is changed in the film. I do not know if this happens with Baton Pass.
- 2nd, PokéStar Studios Illusion glitch: When doing a film where your name is based off of the lead Pokémon name, you aloud bring 2 or more Pokémon, and you bring a Pokémon with the ability Illusion in the lead, then the name will change 1-3 times in the film. Times that the name changes are: when the battle starts(becomes copied Pokémon's name), when Illusion is broken (becomes the Pokémon who is using Illusion), when a line choice comes up (becomes copied Pokémon again), and at the end of the film (becomes the name of the Pokémon on the field). The film preview, the film intro, and the credits will still show the correct name though. TrainerX493 (talk) 19:48, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
I tested it and Baton Pass does not any message, so the first glitch only happens with U-turn and Volt Switch.TrainerX493 (talk) 18:22, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

- Basically, the wiki is freely editable by everyone, and if you submit text it is completely normal for someone to come along and completely rewrite it. It is also normal for it to left the way it was when submitted for years. It really just depends on the way it was written and how popular the page is. But the main reason your text was so largely edited was, as Dennou mentioned, that it was written in second person (with "you"), which is unencylopedic and should not be used in the mainspace. --SnorlaxMonster 11:02, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Regarding the Sandile glitch that was just added
I'm pretty sure I've seen this happen with other Pokemon, actually, sometimes due to their normal animations, sometimes due to the effects of a move animation. I can't remember any off the top of my head, though, but I think Entrainment's wobble-back-and-forth animation can sometimes cause it, for example... Want me to keep an eye out? Yamiidenryuu (talk) 13:48, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

No red X button?
In Black's PC box (move pokemon), I noticed that if I went into switch box mode, and then proceeded to change the name of the box, I would return to find that the red "X" in the corner had disappeared! The empty section still functioned as the X button did. I couldn't repeat this in White 2. --CraftyWeavile (talk) 00:26, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Worked fine here on Black, though the X only vanished when using switch box, and it reappeared after I got out of Switch Box. Is there something that I missed? The X also does not appear when using/giving an item on/to a Pokémon in the party. Not sure if it's intended, though it's likely. Berrenta (talk) 21:05, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

- This is likely because the Pokemon White version of your game believes you are playing the game on a flash card or emulator. Although it may seem as though this is a glitch, it is actually an Anti-Piracy feature built into the game to discourage pirating of the game (or in other words, playing the game but not playing it on its game cartridge). Bike Music Glitch
When playing White Version a year or two ago, I found a glitch by accident that makes the overworld theme become the Bike music even when the player isn't on the bike. I just posted a video on Youtube describing the glitch, here's what I said about it: "This glitch only seems to work on older DS models, such as the DS and DS Lite, not the DSi models or 3DS models due to their faster processing power, I guess. To make the glitch work, you must go over to a shaking grass spot, quickly get on and off the bike, and walk into the shaking spot. After the battle ends, the bike music will start playing regardless of the player not being on the bike. The reason for me going into the bag was just to show that I wasn't playing a separate music track somewhere else, with the music and sounds coming from the same DS." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iytQYc1-HU&feature=youtu.be I'm actually surprised that nobody had this happen to them. - unsigned comment from E1337Xenos (talk • contribs)
- I've actually discovered a similar but much more minor glitch that works on the DSi. Getting on the bike and immediately changing areas in some places where there's no pause for loading (the southern gate into Skyarrow Bridge works well) will cause the game to play the bike music for a second and then freeze briefly before fixing the music. It also seems like getting on the bike, blasting into a new area and then almost immediately getting into a battle will cause a similar delay before the encounter animation starts, but I'll need to record that to check.
