Drowsy Guy
The Drowsy Guy is a character in the games Pokémon Ranger and Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. He has two Drowzee which help him in his job. He is known as the Drowzee Man in Pokémon Ranger.
He allows players to experience once again their most memorable capture. Every time he does this, he chants a spell while moving his arms around with his Drowzee.
In the first game, he is found in Fiore Temple just before the screen where Gordor or Rayquaza can be fought. He allows the player to fight the legendary Pokémon Raikou, Suicune and Entei once again. He only allows players to bring three friend Pokémon, though.
In the second game, he can be found at the top of Altru Tower, just in front of the Luminous Crystal. He allows the player to fight Darkrai once again and this time, players are allowed to bring as many friend Pokémon as possible.
The Drowsy Guy also appears in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. Speaking to him allows the player to view the game's end credits anytime they wish instead of fighting the final bosses. This role is taken by Nema's machine.
Trivia
- Though he was clearly created to supply a logical reason why the player should be able to battle the final boss once again, the player has the ability to defeat the Elite Four countless times in the main series without any reference from anybody implying that he or she had already become the Champion.
- His design and choice of Pokémon seems to mirror the Abra man in Gold, Silver, and Crystal and HeartGold and SoulSilver, as they are both old men carrying Psychic-type Pokémon who utilize said Pokémon's power; in the case of Abra, it has the ability to Teleport the player back from Indigo Plateau, where in the case of Drowzee, it has the ability to lull the player to sleep and into the dream world.
