Poké Ride
Poké Ride (Japanese: ポケモンライド Pokémon Ride) is a feature in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Poké Ride allows the player to ride on certain Pokémon. Each Pokémon allows the player to use a special ability. Functionally, this takes the place of HM-taught field moves and certain Key Items, like the Dowsing Machine and the Bicycle, from past games.
Ride Pokémon are summoned through the Ride Pager (Japanese: ライドギア Ride Gear), which can be accessed with the Ⓨ button. Similar to Key Items in previous games, the player can register up to four Pokémon services to the Control Pad for instant use. The Ride Pager was developed by Ilima along with a friend of his. While using a Ride Pokémon, the player will wear a special suit known as the Riding Wear (Japanese: ライドウェア Ride Wear). The Riding Wear's appearance will differ when riding on a Pokémon that travels on water.
The player obtains the Ride Pager and the ability to ride their first Ride Pokémon, Tauros, after defeating Hala in the Melemele Island grand trial.
