Lugia (Japanese: ルギア Lugia) is a recurring Pokémon that appeared during the new series.
History
Lugia first appeared in SS002, where it appeared just outside Vermilion City. Its appearance caused many Trainers to engage it in battle, but none of the attacks had an effect. As Lugia started to fly away, Ash and Go jumped onto Lugia, which led them to meet each other for the first time. Lugia eventually took the boys on a journey through the sea and the sky before dropping them off.
Lugia will reappear in SS020.
Personality and characteristics
Lugia is a strong Pokémon, managing to withstand the attacks of many other Pokémon as seen in SS002. Lugia is also kind towards others, as seen when it softened its drop into the ocean whilst Ash and Go were still riding on it.
