Jack (Japanese: ヒデノリ Hidenori) is a Swimmer in the Pokémon games and the Pokémon Adventures manga.

In the games

Jack appears in Route 134. He has Staryu and Gyarados in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, but only a Gyarados in Pokémon Emerald. He has Staryu and Sharpedo in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

In the manga

Pokémon Adventures

Jack's name was not mentioned in the story of Pokémon Adventures, but it was revealed by Hidenori Kusaka in Volume 16's Author's Words.

Ruby & Sapphire arc

Jack appears hunting Feebas in Not So Fetching Feebas, being the Trainer class's most prominent appearance. When Ruby accidentally crashes into his trap laid for the Feebas, he forces Ruby into helping him with his hunt. After Ruby finds a Feebas and lets it go, he tells Ruby he is looking for a Feebas to sell to a man who is willing to pay a load of money for the rare fish. After Ruby decides to keep the Feebas for a while, the Swimmer decides to find Ruby so he can breed a Feebas of his own.

He appears once again in Slateport City. When the Contest Hall collapses, he helps the shocked Ruby out of the hall. He also helps to rescue a blind boy who was assigned by Steven to read the slab containing the secret to unlock the Legendary titans.

Emerald arc

In Epilogue, Jack makes a cameo appearance in one of the ships heading to the Battle Frontier.

Platinum arc

In Leaping Past Lopunny, Swimmer Jack makes a cameo appearance outside of the Resort Area.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc

In this chapter, Jack is seen reacting to news revealing that a meteoroid is going to crash into the planet.

Pokémon

Jack's team in the Pokémon Adventures manga is based on the games, where he has Staryu and Gyarados as well.

Starry
Starry

Starry (Japanese: ひとん Hiton) was with Jack assisting him on the bait of luring Feebas as the fish Pokémon would have made him very rich.

None of Starry's moves are known.

Gyaddy
Gyaddy

Jack used Gyaddy (Japanese: ぎゃーとん Gyāton) to rescue Ruby from a giant flood that happened throughout Slateport City.

Mantyke
Jack's Mantyke

Mantyke is seen with Jack outside of the Resort Area.

None of Mantyke's moves are known.
