The Strange Ball (Japanese: ストレンジボール Strange Ball) is a type of Poké Ball introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, though assets for this item exist in the game data of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
In the core series games
Pokémon transferred from other games into Pokémon Legends: Arceus or from Pokémon Legends: Arceus into Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl via Pokémon HOME are contained in Strange Balls, though they regain their original Poké Balls when moved back into HOME. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, which do not feature Strange Balls, standard Poké Balls are used instead for Pokémon from Legends: Arceus.
Effect

Trivia
- While normally unobtainable, the Strange Ball is used as a placeholder whenever an invalid Poké Ball ID is found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
- The Strange Ball resembles a modern Poké Ball design rather than the designs seen in Hisui.
