|
When used in a Catching Show encounter in Pal Park, it catches the encountered Pokémon without fail.
The player does not gain ownership of the caught Pokémon until they complete the Catching Show and choose to place the caught Pokémon in their Storage System. The migrated Pokémon remain in the Poké Balls in which they were contained in Generation III; no Pokémon can have a Park Ball as its own Poké Ball.
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, as an unused item, the Park Ball loads the standard Poké Ball graphics and animation instead of its own when used from the Poké Balls pocket in battle.
Description
Acquisition
When the player participates in Pal Park's Catching Show, they receive six Park Balls exclusively for use within the show. They are not placed in the player's Bag, and the player returns any unused Park Balls they have remaining if they leave the Catching Show.

Trivia
- The Park Ball is not programmed as an inventory item in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. It was added as one in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver and has remained that way since, although it can never actually be seen in the Bag.
- The Park Ball and Strange Ball are the only Poké Balls that cannot be a Pokémon's own Poké Ball, due to Pokémon caught in the Pal Park retaining their original Poké Balls.
- The Park Ball, Cherish Ball, and Strange Ball are the only Poké Balls in the core series games that have never been obtainable as items in any core series game.
