Release information
This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare card, and a special illustration rare card in the 151 expansion, first released in the Japanese Pokémon Card 151 subset. The Regular print features artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita, the ultra rare print features artwork by PLANETA Tsuji, and the special illustration rare print features artwork by Shinya Komatsu. An SVP Black Star Promo version of the card with artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita was included in the 151 ex Box—Alakazam ex, released on October 6, 2023. A Jumbo-sized variant of the SVP Black Star Promo was released in the 151 Alakazam ex Collection, released exclusively in Portuguese. The SVP Black Star Promotional print was released in Japan, alongside a new Shiny ultra rare print with artwork by the same illustrator, in the Shiny Treasure ex subset. This Shiny ultra rare print was included in the Paldean Fates expansion.

This is the first Pokémon card to have an attack that can be used while the Pokémon is on the Bench instead of in the Active Spot. In almost every other situation of the TCG, a Pokémon can only attack if it is in the Active Spot.
