Professor Cozmo's assistants are characters in the Pokémon Adventures manga. They work as researchers, aiding Professor Cozmo in his laboratory in Fallarbor Town. Individually, their names are (Japanese: ワタスケ Watasuke), (Japanese: クウタ Kūta), and (Japanese: ノンキチ Nonkichi).[1]

History

Ruby & Sapphire arc

Professor Cozmo's assistants debut in I More Than Like You, Luvdisc. They were visited by Gabby and Ty, two reporters from Hoenn TV that were hoping to have an interview with Professor Cozmo, only to find he went on a trip to Mt. Chimney with some sponsors and had yet to return. The assistants also revealed that Mt. Chimney's sudden cease of volcanic activity has caused the sea level to start rising, similar to the legend of Groudon and Kyogre.

In Tanks, but No Tanks, Anorith and Lileep, the assistants were visited by Wallace, the guardian of the Cave of Origin. They had asked Wallace to come since Sootopolis City was consistently the most affected by the recent imbalance of Hoenn's natural energy. When Gabby asked why they haven't informed the public about the sea level rising, the assistants revealed they wanted to, but the media chose to keep it a secret.

In The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon XIV, the assistants were reunited with Professor Cozmo after the latter was rescued from the Team Aqua Hideout by Winona and Flannery.

In It All Ends Now VIII, after the Groudon and Kyogre incident had ended, the assistants and Professor Cozmo returned to the normal lives as researchers. They were also joined by Wallace's cheerleaders, who had also become assistants.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc

In Claydol Unleashes, the assistants and Professor Cozmo determined that a massive meteoroid would crash onto Sootopolis City in ten days, destroying the planet in the process.

In Swampert Smashes, the assistants and Professor Cozmo did a check-up on the rocket designed to stop the meteoroid by warping it away to an unknown location. To their shock, Sapphire emerged from inside of the rocket and delivered the dimensional shifter they needed to successfully complete the rocket.

In Kyogre Returns, the assistants, Professor Cozmo, Steven, and Mr. Stone began the launch sequence for the rocket. Later, they witnessed Sapphire battling against Zinnia, who wished to destroy the rocket due to a grudge she held against Devon Corporation. Eventually, Sapphire lost, allowing Zinnia to destroy the dimensional shifter and knock the rocket into the sea.

In PS616, the assistants and Professor Cozmo helped work on a new plan to stop the incoming meteoroid. During their research, they discovered the meteoroid is actually the same Grand Meteor Professor Cozmo found four years ago. As such, they chose to give the meteoroid the name Grand Meteor Delta.
