Confusion (Japanese: ねんりき Mindpower) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I
Confusion does damage and has a 9.8% chance of confusing the target. Confusion can't confuse a target that is already confused.
In Stadium, Confusion can't confuse a target that has a Substitute.

Psyduck. Its eyes turn blue or purple and it uses psychic powers to move something.
- Used by Misty's Psyduck in The Ninja Poké-Showdown. Debut.

Noctowl. Its eyebrow tufts turn blue and release a blue light
- Used by Ash's Noctowl from From Ghost to Ghost to present.
Venomoth. Its eyes turn blue and it uses psychic powers to move objects.
- Used by Chaz's Venomoth in All Thing Bright And Beautifly!.
Baltoy. Its eyes turn blue and it uses psychic powers to move objects.
- Used by Calista's Baltoy in Me, Myself and Time.
Dustox. Its eyes turn purple and it uses psychic powers to move something.
- Used by Austin's Dustox in Crossing Paths.

Trivia
- "Confusion" may not be an entirely correct name, as in the case of the anime, Confusion often causes its target to float in midair, which may not make sense to those unaware of the attack's original Japanese name of Mindpower.
