Trivia
- Xatu currently is the only Pokémon whose name begins with the letter X.
- Xatu shares the same species name with Flygon. They are both known as Mystic Pokémon.
- The Xatu in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon sometimes speaks in a backward fashion, similar to famed Star Wars character Yoda.
- Strangely, Xatu's Gold sprite appears to have an eye shaped marking on one of its wings. This is not seen on Xatu's official artwork and was later fixed in Crystal.
- Though Xatu first appeared in generation two it was not found in the wild until generation three.
Origin
It seems to draw inspiration from a Native American totem.
Name origin
Xatu's Japanese name appears to be a corruption of native.
