Mamoswine (Japanese: マンムー Mammoo) is a dual-type Ice/Ground Pokémon.

It evolves from Piloswine when leveled up while knowing AncientPower. It is the final evolution of Swinub.

Biology

Physiology

Mamoswine resembles a W crossed with a W. Mamoswine have very thick fur to endure harsh cold and protect from snow and ice, thus explaining their Snow Cloak ability, and tusks made of pure, solid ice; their massive body size is also helpful in preserving their own body heat. Mamoswine also exhibit a few Ground-type charastatics such as their studry body and powerful physics.

Gender differences

A female Mamoswine has shorter tusks than a male one.

Special abilities

Mamoswine have incredibly strong physical force. Their study body and feet enable them to cross even the most dense and dry snow. Mamoswine Is able to Endure harsh winters and hunger for an almost indefinite amount of time, as indicated by a ten-thousand-year-old specimen waking up much to the amazement of those who discovered it.

Trivia

  • Mamoswine would have been obtainable in both Generation II and Generation III if it had existed, as in both there was a possible way to get a Piloswine that had AncientPower. It shares this trait with Lickilicky.
  • Mamoswine's Pokédex entry is a reference to how woolly mammoths became extinct.
  • Not counting Pokémon who have an ability that negates weather effects or damage from them, Mamoswine's evolutionary chain are the only Pokémon that are immune to both Sandstorm and Hail.
  • Mamoswine and its pre-evolutions are the only Template:Type2s not weak to Rock, due to their part Ground-typing.
  • Mamoswine is the last Ground-type Pokémon in National Dex order as of Generation IV.
  • Mamoswine's evolutionary chain is the only Pokémon weak to all three starter Pokémon primary types: Fire, Water, and Grass.
  • Mamoswine has the highest Attack of any Ice-type.

Origin

Mamoswine appears to be based on a combination of a woolly mammoth and a boar.

Name origin

Mamoswine is a combination mammoth and swine. Mammoo may be a combination of mammoth and ぶう ぶう bū bū, an onomatopoeia for oinking.

In other languages

  • German: Mamutel - From Mammut (mammoth) and Zottel (shag).
  • French: Mammochon - From mammouth (mammoth) and cochon (pig).
  • Korean: 맘모꾸리 Mammokkuri
  • Chinese: 蠻力豬 Man Li Zhu
