Talk:Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
So is this truly MD3, as a sequel to MD2, or is it MD2.5, as a third version to EOT and EOD? TTEchidna 06:58, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Officially PMD3, it's the sequel (or third version, I suppose) to PMD2, carrying the story on where PMD2 left it. Cipher (Talk) 09:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think we can be sure exactly what this game is yet. Dogasu's already calling it the Platinum to MD2. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 16:02, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Unown Lord said the official website also said the same thing. It's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 with new quests and starter Pokémon, but it retains all of the plot, content, and things from Time and Darkness. Considering that, we should probably move this page to something that doesn't say Mystery Dungeon 3. --Zeta 19:08, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

- Agree. This should be the third version of PMD2. Since its plot is the same.-Billy4b2004 14:24, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- OBJECTION! Clearly, this contradicts that fact that the plot is, in fact, NOT the same. *taps papers* If you recall, Herr Billy, Grovyle and Dusknoir were seen SURROUNDED BE SABLEYE! That is not in the plot of the original PMD2 games! *plays Pursuit - Cornered (Orchestra)* This is a clear contradiction in the witness testimony! Obviously, this game is a direct sequel to the other two PMD2 games! ΘρtιmαtumTalk 15:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Even with a modified plot/story, it isn't to be understood as a third installment of the Dungeon series - it's still just a third part of PMD2. o.o I'm for moving it to something that doesn't contain "Dungeon 3" as well. --nYoo 23:37, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Seriously, this can't stay "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3". It's not a third installment of the series, it's a third version of the second installment. Regardless of whether it would be "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" or something else, it can't stay "Dungeon 3". Though I really don't see a problem with "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky" since, the movie articles have translated titles as well and a redirect would exist for those who try to find "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3". o.o --nYoo 03:36, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm guessing you haven't read the other conversations. The page is protected, and we can't do anything about the title or even update the information on the page. R.A. Hunter B. 18:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

- You're right, I didn't notice the other discussion. Sorry. Kinda strange to have two of them on one talk page. o.o The fact that the page is protected isn't relevant though. It's better than having people moving it back and froth all the time. --nYoo 03:33, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- I unprotected it and moved it back to it's correct name. I also corrected the names of the pages for the other games in the series, since NONE of them have sequential numbers in their name. --Zeta 05:31, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Starter
I don't get this line : "Every starter Pokémon from the previous games can now be a partner as well, bringing the total of starting Pokémon to 21, only 19 of which are available to the player, since Meowth and Munchlax can only be selected as partners." What does it mean? You can't pick Munchlax and Meowth as the playing character? - unsigned comment from Happizelpom (talk • contribs) 23:57, 20 January 2009
- Nope. Check the starter Pokémon page. - espeonA 00:00, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Riolu!
OK, I swear I put up a line on pic. 1 saying Riolu was the leader of the squad. If the deleter responds, if you remember this, could you please recall exactly what the f***ing h*** I said? Giratina's Embodiment 03:38, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

- I did the deletion. I deleted it since I see no need for it to be mentioned, what the caption says is already enough. If I recall, you said that "Riolu seems to be a leader in this squad, seen holding a Rescue Badge" and the word "seems" don't belong in any article on the mainspace. --☆Kevzo8 02:07, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Do you like? File:EOS.PNG It's from Serebii. ht14 01:54, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Game Site Updated
Pokémon.co.jp was just updated with [1], showing a bunch of story information and other general info. Ryuartyi 03:57, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
It shows that a Skymin will be involved in the story. *tc26* 09:23, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Plus there's a story that happened in the past, where Wigglytuff as an Igglybuff is involved. --×Kevzo8 09:30, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Add
Could anyone add this: File:Pmd sky giratina.png *tc26* 09:35, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sure someone could. You could. But, um, .png format is preferred. — THE TROM — 09:42, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
REAL FREAKIN' TITLE
THE REAL TITLE OF THE GAME IS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (and it's not the "third series", it's actually the third version of Darkness/Time!) Can someone with powers move the article? --Maxim 11:09, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah. Besides, they're EXACTLY THE SAME except for the side-quests and starters. Someone needs to put sidequest info in! If this is a sequel to PMD2, (which it isn't) then Emerald must be a sequel to Ruby/Sapphire! TorchicBlaziken (talk•edits) 18:18, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- But they didn't move Pokémon Mystery Dungeon into Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 into Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. ×Kevzo8 04:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

- What about Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2.5? 0° 01:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- That rankles me, personally. I hate calling anything "n.5" unless it's referred to as such officially. Another idea would be to move the other pages to more standard titles, but then that begs the question as to why they're not at those titles in the first place... --((Marton imos)) 01:36, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- What about Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2.5? 0° 01:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Merge to MD2 and make special mention of the third version? Treat it like r/b/y, r/s/e, etc.? (Although that still has the analogousness issue) The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 01:39, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, just treat it like a third version to the first two, like Emerald is to Ruby and Sapphire. It's not exactly a sequel, since it has the same storyline, just extended. Though that doesn't really work out the title issue... ~ overgrownsol 02:05, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- We should stick to official titles instead of numbers, IMO. It's like referring to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past as "The Legend of Zelda 3"; it sort of is, sequentially, but not officially. If we don't want to have an awfully long name ("Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness", like Wikipedia does it), I'd think we should just simplify it like this: "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness". Same would apply to PMD1. Memo326 02:27, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's been moved to "Explorers of Time and Darkness" before, but it was disagreed upon because it's not one game, but two separate games, and since Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness is too long... ~ overgrownsol 02:29, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Too long as in, MediaWiki can't handle titles of that length? Or too long as in, people thought it looked too long? --((Marton imos)) 03:26, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's too long to type in the Search bar. Trust me, there have been users with a 100+ character subpage before.ΘρtιmαtumTalk 11:47, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

- I've been not very active for a while and am not sure about this. How exactly do we come to an agreement for a title? As the one who started this page I named this after the pattern of the other articles. Also I wasn't aware this would be an extension of the second games' story. If I still could, I'd move it to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. ~Toastypk - Loom. 04:31, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Sunday title.
Copied from Filb: In der heutigen Folge 226 der wöchentlichen japanischen TV-Sendung wurde erstmals der neue Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-Titel ポケモン不思議のダンジョン 空の探検隊 Pokémon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai, über den wir gestern ausführlich berichteten, erstmals live angespielt.
For those who don't understand German, it basically says, minus some unessecary talking: In EP 226 (Of Pokémon Sunday) a new title ポケモン不思議のダンジョン 空の探検隊 Pokémon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai, which we (Filb) reported yesterday, was referenced.
Understanding no Japanese, I ask if the title differs from the one we currently have. Sunday also apparently talked about some gameplay elements, and debuted Arceus on TV, but given that the release date is still a while yet, they could still be beta. Aura-Knight 16:02, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, you misunderstood. It doesn't say anything about a new title for the game. "der neue Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-Titel XYZ [...]" = "the new title of the Mystery Dungeon series, XYZ, [...]", as in the new entry or game or whatever. --nYoo 12:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Wigglytuff's Back Story
Now that it's been proven that the Igglybuff in the pictures is Wigglytuff, shouldn't we say he is in the main article. along with that why aren't I allowed to edit the page? - unsigned comment from TeamMegaraptor (talk • contribs)
- You aren't allowed to edit the page because it has been locked by the administrators. I do think it should be worth a tiny mention, but we still don't know a lot of information. It will probably be added once the game releases in Japan. Ryuartyi 03:17, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it's most likely protected so people don't edit it, and then have to change incorrect info. Like how Platinum is protected for that reason. R.A. Hunter B. 03:44, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Mystery Dungeon 3 Special
Serebii updated with news from Pokéani that there will be a PMD3 special airing on April 12th. I'd start the page, but I'm clueless how to start a special episode page. Ryuartyi 01:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Serebii.net just got more news on the game!
Hi everybody. I just wanted to let you know that over the past couple of days, Serebii.net got more information on the game. Would someone that has permission to edit the article go to Serebii and put the new information about the game on this page please? A few questions
Does this game still use the same "portraits" we use for the PMD2 side-game sprites? Is Arceus actually available in the game or is there just the statue? Are all of Rotom's forms in this game?--MisterE13 01:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

The Storylines
I know the storylines to the special episodes after revising them about 22 times. I can't exactly read what's being said properly, but I can easily give the main outline and put it on the page. WARNING: IT WILL CONTAIN MANY SPOILERS! --Team Hyper 15:54, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Updates to the artworks
I found out that there were some missing artworks here, so I've added two "new" artworks which I still had on my pc for some reason. One with a Chimchar and a Phanpy helping an Oddish, and one with a Squirtle and a Vulpix standing before a crystal. I've updated some of the other artworks too, which are now slightly better. --Grovyle91 01:46, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- What site did you get them from? And I have my reasons for asking... R.A. Hunter Blade 03:45, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- He said the Japanese site when he uploaded them on the Archives. MaverickNate 03:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes I saw that. I had forgotten that the PMD3 things were done slightly different than most official arts, especially the Oddish. That's what caught my eye when I first looked. I had thought it was fanart at first, because people can say things and do another thing. R.A. Hunter Blade 04:06, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but it isn't fanart ;) You can also see these images in-game at the main menus (here and here). These artworks were from the Japanese Pokémon site from months ago, but since the game has been released in Japan the artworks are removed. I've made a video then, that's why I still had these images in my pictures folder. Btw if you're interested, there are some more artworks here (bottom) and here (top right). And sorry for my many "here"-links :p. --Grovyle91 13:14, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
