Signing

As stated above, instead of putting your username, use four tildes (~~~~). It would automatically insert your username plus the timestamp. Thanks, Kevzo8 14:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

User page edits

Please don't make so many edits to you user page. It stresses out the server. Try using the preview button to avoid multiple edits. Thanks. --ケンジガール 03:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I realise that, but I keep hitting the wrong button. Cjcurry 03:19, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Hold on!

If you did not read your last warning, then please read it now. You have edited the User: namespace too much. In the past, no one was allowed to edit their userpages because some users were over-editing their own userpages. Your personal editing privileges can be taken away, so please do not edit your page any more for now. Thank you. ---- MAGNEDETH 18:38, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

You know, it would be a lot easier if the "Save Page" button was not highlighted, and there was a huge warning somewhere about previewing your page before making the final change. I am not going to be blamed for making minor mistakes like that when the editors do very little to help. Cjcurry 02:02, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

i dont see how its our fault if you cant see the preview button right next to the save page button. also, if you had bothered to read any of the helpful pages in your welcome, you would notice we strongly encourage the use of the preview button. -- MAGNEDETH 03:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
I still think there need to be some changes. Help pages are long and boring, and people are inexorably going to skip over them. Always. The preview button itself must be highlighted or emphasised for people to pay attention to it, otherwise you're going to keep having these n00b-caused problems with the server. (For the record, I don't see how editing my page only twice is a crime.) Your move? Cjcurry 03:48, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
The purpose of help pages are so that people DO read them. In other words, if you don't read it, it's hard to move on... studying for an exam is similar in that way. Unless one cheats or is really good in that subject, it is practically inevitable to pass or do well on an exam. I'm using this analogy because, simply put, it's there. Just read it. It only takes 5, 10 minutes max to read the help pages and then edit. Patience is of the essence in this case. ht14 04:10, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
I guess this is why people consider wiki editors 'elitist'. Cjcurry 04:28, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
sure, well add fun colors and candy to our help pages. really, we know help pages are boring, but its pretty hard to write an interesting help page. as for the preview button, youre the first person ever to complain about not seeing it. its right next to the save page button. as for userspace, it is true you only edited your userpage twice in one day, however, since joining the site on May 15th, youve made 6 mainspace edits, and 11 userspace. so, on a site that thrives on contributing users, we encourage users to edit the mainspace, not their userspace, and you arent doing that. -- MAGNEDETH 04:12, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
You do realise that most of those 11 changes were due to my mistakes, right? I've only updated it twice - or, to be more correct, over two sessions - so you'll naturally forgive me for my "lack of content addition" and move on. (Incidentally, 'namespace' is very, very incorrect usage. 'userspace' maybe; 'namespace' no.) Cjcurry 04:28, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Alrighty. I've set your account up so that the preview button is highlighted in bulba-green. No way to miss it then. And if you think that you're gonna be silly and ignore it (even if by accident) go to your preferences, go to editing and click Show preview on first edit. Then you'll never forget. —darklordtrom 04:51, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Thank you kindly, but I strongly suggest that it be emphasised for other users as well. I believe that this is likely to be a problem in the future. Cjcurry 06:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
also, i never said "namespace" and no, you made 11 edits. if you saw the preview button, then you could have made it only 2, but you didnt. -- MAGNEDETH 04:53, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
I quote: "You have edited the User: namespace too much." See above. Cjcurry 06:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
If it other users are seen to be making a mess of the not-previewing I'll make sure they get some help too. The word "namespace" is a generic term that describes the different areas of the 'pedia. Userspace, talkspace, mainspace, templatespace, usertalkspace... they're all namespaces. Think of it like a book, I guess. Fiction book, science book, history book... they're all books. —darklordtrom 06:13, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
I come from a C++ background. My apologies. Cjcurry 15:37, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
