The Bike Voucher made a brief appearance in File 2: Cubone, where Red was seen exchanging it for a Bicycle, mentioning how he had received it from the Pokémon Fan Club Chairman.

The Bike Voucher was mentioned in Wake Up—You're Snorlax, where Red was revealed to have received one from the Pokémon Fan Club Chairman and exchanged it for a bike off-panel.

In Pokémon Power (issue 2, page 3), it is said that multiple Bike Vouchers have been distributed, and that each one can be exchanged specifically for a '98 model bike, since the Bike Shop is making room for new models. This relates to the fact that this magazine issue was cover-dated September 1998.
