Category talk:Pokémon with "Dark" in their names
Move to Dark Pokémon
Hmm, I don't think the reasoning of "the cards check for information in this format". keeping this category at "Pokémon with "Dark" in their names" is sensible. Mostly because it has a nasty, nasty knock on effect. Category:δ Delta Species Pokémon cards? I believe you meant "Pokémon that has δ on its card". Category:Cards by owner? Nah, the category obviously must read "Pokémon that has an owner in its name". You might as well bin Category:Erika (TCG) and friends, "cards with Erika in their names" is superior.
The same anti-pendant clause that says WOTC card text shouldn't use "flavor text" should probably also apply here, so that category names wind up at the place that is most natural. Yes, the TCG runs on logic that makes no sense, but at the very least Bulbapedia can use the official names for things as presented off of the cards to smooth over the reading experience. And a "cards are primary" approach sort of ignores the fact that something has to teach the rules in order for anyone to start playing and the cards can't do that on their own. Would we really call the Poké Ball (TCG) category "Item cards that have the word “Ball” in their name"? Salmancer (talk) 14:07, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
