Release information

This disk was awarded as a prize at the Full-Force Battle ~Ultra Necrozma Challenge!~ event held at the 49th Next Generation World Hobby Fair during winter 2019. The World Hobby Fair took place at the Nagoya Dome, Nagoya on January 19 and 20, 2019; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on January 26 and 27, 2019; and at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, Osaka on February 17, 2019.

Entrants were challenged to defeat Battle Leader Seraji and 1 of his 2 possible teams of 3 Pokémon. Those who successfully defeated all 3 Pokémon could select to dispense a "WINNER" version of either this disk or a Dawn Wings Necrozma disk following the battle. Entrants who were not successful were awarded a non-winner version of either this disk or the Dawn Wings Necrozma disk at random. The 10 players of junior high school age and below as well as the 5 players of high school age and above with the highest score following the conclusion of each day were each awarded a certificate and a mounted set of special gold versions of the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma disks in an acrylic case.

More Full-Force Battle ~Ultra Necrozma Challenge!~ events were held as part of the Kids Game Festa, present at ÆON Malls across Japan on the weekends of March 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, April 6-7, and 13-14, 2019, and again at any participating store with a Pokémon Ga-Olé arcade machine between March 23 and April 7, 2019. The format was the same as the World Hobby Fair event: entrants who successfully defeated all three opponent Pokémon could choose to dispense a "WINNER" version of either this disk or the Dawn Wings Necrozma disk. Entrants who were not successful were awarded a non-winner version of either this disk or the Dawn Wings Necrozma disk at random. Events held as part of the Kids Game Festa awarded the 3 highest scorers with a certificate and the special gold versions of Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma. The disks awarded at stores with Pokémon Ga-Olé arcade machines are colored grey instead of purple. These events also distributed a Ga-Olé Pass sticker featuring Ultra Necrozma to all participants and awarded a different "WINNER" certificate featuring the event logo to the player achieving the highest score.

Trivia

The Japanese name on this disk is Solar Eclipse Necrozma, an alternate name for Dusk Mane Necrozma in the Japanese games, and the form of Necrozma featured. The first images of the purple version of this disk uploaded to the official Pokémon Ga-Olé website had just "Necrozma" in the name, while the physical versions awarded at the event feature the full form name. The images were updated shortly after the first event was held, suggesting this was a late change. Curiously, the gold versions still feature just "Necrozma".

Origin

Photon Geyser is a move that Dusk Mane Necrozma can learn in the games. Light That Burns the Sky is a Z-Move Dusk Mane Necrozma can use by equipping the appropriate Z-Crystal.
