Gengar (Japanese: ゲンガー Gangar) is a Psychic-type Stage 2 Pokémon card. It was first released as part of the Fossil expansion.

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move 1 damage counter from 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to another (even if it would Knock Out the other Pokémon). This power can't be used if Gengar is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

Release information

This card was included in the Fossil expansion as both a Holofoil and Non Holofoil card, first released in the Japanese Mystery of the Fossils expansion as a Holofoil card. The Holofoil print was later reprinted in the Legendary Collection expansion.

Origin

Curse is a move later introduced in the Generation II Pokémon games that Gengar can learn. Dark Mind's Japanese name is that of Night Shade, a move in the Pokémon games that Gengar can learn. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
