Release information
This card was included in the Astral Radiance expansion, first released in the Japanese Time Gazer expansion. A version of this card with the Astral Radiance expansion logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork was given away with eligible Pokémon Trading Card Game purchases in various countries to celebrate the launch of the set on May 27, 2022. It was available at participating GameStop stores in the United States and Canada with a $15 minimum purchase,[1] at participating GameStop stores in Italy with at least a €20 purchase,[2] and at participating Kaufhaus Stolz stores in Germany with at least a €10 purchase.[3] It was available in the United Kingdom from June 10, 2022 and was given away with at least a £10 purchase at participating WHSmith high street stores.[4] It was then available in Belgium and the Netherlands from June 18, 2022 and was given to customers who spent at least €20 at participating Game Mania stores.
Trivia
The Pokémon.com article for the UK distribution of the Astral Radiance stamp promotional variant incorrectly stated "SMITH" instead of "WHSmith" as the target store chain. Promotional material in-store for the distribution also suggested that it should have began in tandem with the launch of the expansion on May 27.
Origin
This card features the Hisuian form of Typhlosion. Shadow Bind is an attack that first appeared on Sabrina's Gengar from Gym Challenge. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
