Hoenn League

The Hoenn League (Japanese: ホウエンリーグ Hoenn League) is the regional Pokémon League of the Hoenn region. The Hoenn League is composed of eight Hoenn Gym Leaders and the Hoenn Elite Four members. Pokémon Trainers who earn eight Gym Badges by defeating the Gym Leaders of the Hoenn League qualify to challenge the Elite Four located in the Pokémon League building in Ever Grande City.

Main series

In the anime, Trainers who collect eight Badges can enter the Hoenn League championship competition, known as the Ever Grande Conference. In the anime, the Hoenn League presented some small differences compared to the games.

Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire

Flannery assumed the role of Lavaridge Town Gym Leader three days prior to Poetry Commotion!, after her grandfather, Mr. Moore, decided to retire and pursue a career as a poet.

In The Great Eight Fate!, Juan was introduced as the Gym Leader of Sootopolis City, unlike in the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games where this role was played by Wallace.

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

In Our Cup Runneth Over!, Wallace was introduced as the current Champion of the Hoenn region and an experienced Coordinator.

Pokémon the Series: XY

In Mega Evolution Special II, Steven was mentioned to be Hoenn's current Champion, meaning that Wallace had lost the title sometime earlier.
