Release information

This card was included in the Neo Discovery expansion with artwork by Kagemaru Himeno, first released in the Japanese Crossing the Ruins... expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted as an Unnumbered Promotional card with different artwork by the same artist and was included with the fifth volume of the manga series, How I Became a Pokémon Card released on July 23, 2001. This print has a color graphic of an open book with a trading card in place of an expansion symbol.

Trivia

The Japanese Unnumbered Promotional print is commonly known as Natta Wake Hoppip in reference to the publication in which it was distributed. The text on the bottom of this print's card border reads: "Pokémon Card Books "How I Became a Pokémon Card" bonus card."
