Kanto Elite Four (Part 1) (Japanese: カントー四天王　前編 Kanto Elite Four (Part 1)) was a Trainer Files event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Lorelei & Cloyster and Bruno & Onix. This event was followed by Kanto Elite Four (Part 2).

During this event, players could earn vouchers from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

First run

The event first ran from April 20 to May 14, 2023. In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Vouchers H. The "Lorelei Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lorelei & Cloyster for the duration of the event, and the "Bruno Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Bruno & Onix starting on April 22, 2023 and lasting until the end of the event.

The player could battle using Lorelei & Cloyster or Bruno & Onix to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Kanto or Elite Four theme skills to earn +0.2× bonus vouchers.

Second run

The event reran from April 18 to May 4, 2024. In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Vouchers A. The "Super Spotlight Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lorelei & Cloyster, Bruno & Onix, Agatha & Arbok, and Lance & Dragonair for the duration of the event.

In addition to the bonuses from the previous run, the player could battle using Agatha & Arbok or Lance & Dragonair to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers. Everything else was the same as the previous run.

Plot

The player comes across Bruno and Lorelei in a field, who are training their Onix and Cloyster's defenses by having them withstand attacks from Bruno's Machamp. Misty and Brock get into an argument over whether Onix or Cloyster is harder, and Bruno laughs that this training all started because they got into the same argument. He then says that the best way to find out whose Pokémon is stronger is to battle, so he and Lorelei challenge the player, Misty, and Brock to battle.

After the battle is over, Lorelei compliments the player, Misty, and Brock on their effort. Misty and Brock are exhausted, but the player is ready for more. Bruno invites the player to join him and Agatha for training, and Lorelei suggests that she and Lance meet up with them as well. Misty and Brock would love to go, but they're too tired, so they ask the player to train hard for the both of them. The player then heads off with Lorelei and Bruno.
