These are attack name variations in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Attack name variations
Spelling and spacing
Several attacks have had different spellings across certain cards.
- Pain-Full Punch and Pain-full Punch
- Psychic and Psyche, the latter used by Ancient Mew
Variations based on the core series games
There are several moves from the core series games which originally consisted of multiple words with no spaces, but had the spaces between words introduced in Generation VI.
- Bubble Beam, formerly Bubblebeam
- Double-Edge and Double-edge
- Double Slap, formerly Doubleslap (changed in Diamond & Pearl, save for a use on Audino)
- Fire Blast or Fireblast, the latter used by a Charizard card
- Freeze-Dry and Freeze Dry
- Poison Powder, formerly Poisonpowder
- Sand Attack, formerly Sand-Attack or Sand-attack
- Self-Destruct, formerly Selfdestruct, also named Self Destruct on an Electrode card and a Ferroseed card
- Solar Beam, formerly Solarbeam
- Sonic Boom, formerly Sonicboom
- Thunder Punch, formerly Thunderpunch
- Thunder Shock, formerly Thundershock (changed in Furious Fists)
- Vise Grip, formerly Vice Grip
Punctuation
Some attacks differ by their punctuation. The attacks with question marks below are from cards that have not been released in English.
- Confuse Ray and Confuse Ray?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Eevee
- Crimson Dive and Crimson Dive?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Pikachu
- Draining Kiss and Draining Kiss?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Eevee
- Fire Fang and Fire Fang?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Eevee
- Fly and Fly?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Pikachu
- Icy Wind and Icy Wind?, the latter used by Poncho-wearing Eevee

Some attacks differ by the use of hiragana or kakatana in Japanese.

GX attacks
A number of GX attacks are named after existing attacks with "-GX" appended to the end. Or in other cases, an existing GX attack name has the "-GX" removed and is used as the name of a new attack. This lists them in alphabetical order, with the original attack coming first.

Celestial Storm and Dragon Majesty
These GX attacks are on cards based on older cards. Updates of older cards are a theme in Celestial Storm, and one spilled over into Dragon Majesty. This practice essentially "promotes" one of the attacks from the older card to a GX attack on the new card.
